Breakthrough can be built, let me teach you how:

have you ever wondered why some people thrive in the face of challenges and setbacks? Life is hard for everyone, period. Yes, some people‘s hard looks different than others. Yet, I have met so many different people that have gone through some of the most incredible battles and tests life will ever throw at you. It always fascinates me how people move through certain setbacks.

One thing I can tell you with confidence is that the biggest differentiator between someone who thrives versus survives is their mindset. When people build a life built for breakthrough, their brains are just different.

1. They control their thoughts and don’t let their thoughts control them. This is by design. Controlling your thoughts takes work every single day.

2. The integrate wellness staples into their life on the daily. They have better habits and better self discipline than those that do not.

3. Instead of looking at all of these struggles life throws at them they take note to every obstacle they have overcome.
This is how you build a resilient mindset. Obstacles become opportunities

4. They take their mental fitness as serious as their physical fitness. Your brain is an organ that needs to be trained too. Your brain can be weak or be strong.

Building a life meant for breakthrough does not mean easier paths, it just means stronger wiring. Those that are dedicated to living a life where they thrive understand that the dedication to mental wellness integration is a non-negotiable.

There are so many things I want to leave behind in 2025.

One of the things I like to do each year is self reflect on the annual winds as well as the areas I did not thrive. While there were so many blessings in 2025 it was also a very testing year and many different categories.

With a growing family and having a two year-old around the house, I noticed my nervous system getting incredibly hijacked a lot more often. Trying to juggle a business with 60 employees and consistent things to manage and then show up well for my family didn’t seem as easy as at once was.

I also found myself less tolerant to toxic relationships. I have worked diligently over the past few years at analyzing the circles that I ran in so now anytime I spent time with an individual that was not life-giving. I was less tolerant to their energy.

I have noticed that when I do not have a completely busy week or I have no travel coming up I do not do well. This is not a good thing. For me, when I am busy and overbooked that feels good. In 2026 I am going to reflect on what actual harmony looks like from a scheduling standpoint.

I think it is critical for each of us to analyze our lives and refocus on what we want to make important going into the new year.

I am so curious what some of you All’s goals are going into 2026! Or even better, what crap you want to leave behind you lol

SMART GOALS OR BUST:

To set achievable goals, use the SMART framework (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely), break big goals into smaller steps, focus on 1-3 key goals at a time, track progress, and stay flexible by adjusting as needed, ensuring your goals align with your values and you have a clear “why” for pursuing them. Writing them down and finding an accountability partner also boosts success.

1. Use the SMART Framework

Specific: Clearly define what you want to achieve (e.g., “run a 5k” not “get fit”).

Measurable: Include numbers or milestones to track progress (e.g., “run 3 times a week”).

Attainable/Achievable: Is it realistic given your resources and time?.

Relevant: Does it matter to you and align with your values?.
Timely: Set a deadline to create urgency (e.g., “by the end of next quarter)

Holiday season can be one of the most magical times of the year. However, for many people, it can also be one of the hardest and most painful seasons.

As moms, we do our best to make everyone around us feel loved on in each day feel so special. Between elf on the shelf, extra holiday cooking, taking care of the kids, decorating for the holidays, the list goes on and on- it can be a lot

For us to really thrive through the season, there are a handful of things we each need to be doing to take care of ourselves first

1. Gratitude
2. SMART GOALS
3. Sunlight
4. Faith
5. Positive self talk
6. Therapy and supplementation

if we are not doing the basics and setting up a strong foundation, it is going to be a lot more difficult to thrive during a busier and more stressful season. If this is you and you are feeling overwhelmed, sad, anxious, dear, best to slow down and focus on these first five basics and see what type of control you can get back in your own life.

More support is needed to know that Brain concepts is in your corner and we have holiday specials going on so you can get in control of your brain and in control of your life!

A couple of years ago, I committed to doing the work—to heal my anxiety, support my sleep, and regulate my nervous system. Sixty sessions of neurofeedback later, my life looked and felt completely different. It became one of the most powerful tools in my entire toolbox.

And then life happened.

Two months ago, my mom was diagnosed with two types of breast cancer. Even as a neurospecialist and licensed counselor, I’m not immune to what shock does to a brain and body. The anxiety. The PTSD responses. The sleep disruption. The way your nervous system feels like it forgets every skill it ever learned.

But here’s the thing:
The tools don’t disappear.
They just wait for us to pick them back up.

So I did exactly what I tell my clients to do: return to what works. Go back to the practices that built your resilience. Trust the science and trust your own history.

I went back to doing neurofeedback.
Back to regulating my system one session, one heartbeat, one breath at a time.

And it’s been grounding. Stabilizing. Life-giving.
Because healing isn’t a one-time event—it’s a rhythm you return to, especially in seasons that shake you.

If you’re in a hard chapter, this is your reminder: the tools you built in your strongest season are designed for your hardest ones. Pick them up again. They still work.

Comin for ya 2026!

Thriving > Surviving This Christmas 🎄✨

Let’s be honest… the holiday season can feel like a full-contact sport 😂 But this year, we’re choosing to thrive, not just survive.

How?

✨ By drinking the hot cocoa while it’s still hot
✨ By saying “no” to things that drain us (even if it’s a beautifully decorated, guilt-sprinkled invitation)
✨ By laughing at the chaos instead of wrestling with it
✨ By remembering that “perfect” isn’t the goal—present is.
May your days be merry, your boundaries strong, and your joy unbreakable.

Here’s to making memories, soaking up the magic, and actually enjoying this season for what it is. ❤️
