I am seeking families with kids 3 to 5 years old as well as early elementary aged (K-3) who might be interested in a weekly small play group in June and July. This would be meant for kids who attend school during the school year but do not attend any school/daycare in the summer. This can include kids with IEPs and typically developing kids.

I am currently determining interest and feasibility. If you are interested in being included in a list of interested families, please message through FB or email info@gbweducational.com.

New excitement at GBW Educational! In January, I will be moving to a new location in Centennial, off Arapahoe and I25! This will hopefully be more convenient for my clients and families! Stay tuned for official moving date and new location information!

Parents of children ages 4 - 18 interested in helping with the development/standardization/norming for a questionnaire related to trauma: A company I contract with is seeking parents willing to complete a questionnaire about school trauma. For students ages 8-18, they are also seeking self reports from the child themselves. For students 4-18, they are hoping for teacher participation as well. There are options for Amazon gift cards for your participation, your child's self rating, and for teachers as well. All questionnaires are online, so anyone can complete these (CO, NJ, or wherever you may be based!).

The caveat is that the student must have been in in-person learning for the last 30 days. I know there are some students that this will apply to them in another week or so, some it may not.

Interested? What to know more? Send me a message here, or email me info@gbweducational.com.

Summer 2019 I participated in helping to develop a new test for writing. Today, I received my newest test kit, and there's my name in the manual.

COVID has of course stopped most (if not all) data collection for new tests, but if anyone wants to be included for consideration in helping data collection, please let me know. Some projects are planning to restart soon with some precautions in place. Children and adults, any age are welcome to be considered. If a project comes along that a test developer needs data, and you or your child fit their needs, I contact you to see if you're interested. Most test developers provide some type of payment as a thank you, as well.

Want to know more? Interested in being part of new evaluation tools/tests? Message me, send me an email, or call!

The school year has started, or is about to start, for many in the Denver metro area. Whether attending virtually, a hybrid schedule, or fully in person, I want to wish everyone a great and safe school year.

With that said, everyone needs their self care as well. One of my favorite self care activities is looking at beach and sunset pictures, which I use to ground my mind when it's going a mile a minute. This one is in the waiting room, so even parents can ground themselves while their child is working through their evaluation or receiving counseling/psychotherapy!

This is a great way to visualize and understand the spectrum of Autism. It is not linear, and never really was, although many visualize it as a linear spectrum. It is not about "a little bit of Autism" or "a lot of Autism" or "low functioning" or "high functioning." Each individual has strengths and challenges in different areas that most people who are neurotypical do not understand well.

What do you think of this?
