🌿Our herbal spotlight is on...the linden tree!🌿
Did you know every part is edible, and each part has its own flavor with different levels of sweetness?
Not only does linden smell amazing when in bloom, but it also has medicinal properties and a long history of many uses, including teas, syrups, tinctures, honey, and textiles.
It's an excellent source of nectar for bees in both honey production and in supporting bees' gut health against a gut parasite they often deal with.
The time for harvesting linden flowers isn't too far away either, so keep an eye out! In our area of New England, blooms start appearing around late June into July, and don't last long. Remember not to overharvest parts like buds, though! They need as many as possible so they have plenty of leaves to keep them in good health throughout the season.
We do carry already prepared linden at Deep Earth Arts in our bulk herbs! A few of our in-house teas utilize linden as a tasty ingredient to compliment the overall flavor, too 🍵
If you find a linden tree this year, take some time to enjoy its company, take in its fragrance, and thank it for all the wonderful things they provide 💚
