This week last year, I spent 3 days with these beautiful souls on my first yoga retreat.

Here are my biggest takeaways from the time away from my normal, everyday life:

๐Ÿ”นTemporary time away from routines, is necessary (and Biblical) for a healthy perspective and a realignment of the heart.

๐Ÿ”นIt's not possible to pour from an empty cup. Pausing to refuel is absolutely necessary to keep going.

๐Ÿ”นInvestment in your self (mind, body, soul) is also an investment in those around you. You can better love and serve those you're called to serve when you love and care for yourself.

๐Ÿ”นWe can't do anything alone. Community is everything. If you haven't found the people who encourage and help you grow, go find them! They might even be strangers on the Internet. ๐Ÿคช

๐Ÿ”นYour struggles, might have solutions that others can obviously see when you can't.

๐Ÿ”นIt's okay to have seasons of growth followed by slower, quieter seasons.

๐Ÿ”นI REALLY love yoga. ๐Ÿ˜… Having a yoga class every day (or twice a day) is so so good for my mind, body and soul. I felt so amazing afterward the trip. ๐Ÿ’–

So, if you have the opportunity to attend a retreat or do something to care for yourself, then take that opportunity! It is ALWAYS worth the investment and sacrifices to make it happen.

Do your hips often feel tight and tense?

When you stretch, do you gain temporary relief from your hip pain only for it to come right back?

I've been in that frustrating and painful place myself after years of long distance running and after birthing both of my children.

Our next in-person class series: Hips & Heart, is for YOU!

Over 2 classes, you will learn movements and stretches to improve your hip mobility and strength exercises for your core and glutes to better support your hip joints and prevent tension and pain.

You will also meditate on Godโ€™s Word and seek to cultivate a heart of gratitude to the Lord by fostering a regular rhythm of expressing thankfulness

๐Ÿ’– Series sign up is open and includes discounted class pricing AND a PDF copy of "5 Exercises for Happy & Healthy Hips" to use at home and after our series!

Jesus can be found in every aspect of Adoration Yoga classes.

He is at the center of our class themes, prayers, worship music, scripture meditation, breath and movement.

My prayer is that every class is a space for you to calm your mind, care for your body and to grow your love for Jesus as He meets you with His love, joy, peace and hope. ๐Ÿ’–

P.S.- how cute is this "little Jesus" one of my students gave me? ๐Ÿ˜ My kids and I have had so much fun playing with it this week and I admittedly had fun creating this post. ๐Ÿ˜

What do you need to lay down and let go?

What feels heavy, like dead weight, in your life?

Are you holding on to anger, pride, guilt, shame, self-sufficiency, control, or something else?

โ€œTherefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.โ€
Hebrews 12:1 NLT

How much energy do you spend carrying this weight?

How might letting go feel like a grace to you in this season?

"Releasing one thing opens up space for something else. Letting go of the old makes way for the new, and gives you the chance to experience life from another viewpoint.

Without being stuck in one place forever.
Like the crisp of autumn air, there's clarity in each phase of renewal.

The new season is a sacred time to look into the past, bless it, forgive it, and release it so that you can enjoy the splendor of what's here. What's here is your life.โ€

When the trees let go of what is dead and past it's season, it creates a beautiful phenomenon. ๐Ÿ‚

Could it be the same with you?

Last weekend was peak colors for the aspens in Colorado! ๐Ÿ’›

Fall aspen hikes used to include stops for yoga photo shoots and YouTube class filming. The hikes look a lot different now that I have kids, but I wouldn't have it any other way. ๐Ÿฅฐ

What if trees refused to let go of their dying leaves?

How does a season of change help you more fully rely on the unchanging nature of God?

After an abundant season, does a time of rest and gratitude better prepare you for a season of barrenness and unapparent growth?

These are a few of the questions we are going to consider together as we mindfully breathe, move and meditate on God's Word in our next yoga series: Lessons from Autumn.

My prayer over this series is that you will leave your mat each week feeling more peaceful, relaxed and hopeful, no matter what season of life you find yourself in.

Drop a ๐Ÿ‚ below and I'll send you the info for this series that's starts on Saturday, 10/4.

Special series pricing + small gift bag of fall goodies closes on Thursday 10/2!

Do you feel it too?

The deep desire for routine, healthy rhythms and a refueling of the fire of your faith?

If your summer was similar to mine, you enjoyed a LOT of fun outdoor activities, but exited the season feeling a little disoriented and dry.

Maybe like me, you fell out of healthy rhythms and habits and are feeling sore and stiff.

Maybe you are feeling stressed, worn out and apathetic in your life and faith and haven't been showing up like you want to in prayer, time in the Word and on your yoga mat.

I've been reflecting on the story of the prodigal son this week. Like the counter-cultural father in this parable, God isn't surprised or angry when we wander away from Him and make unhealthy, or even downright terrible, choices.

He instead rejoices, runs towards us and lovingly embraces us when we make the choice to return to Him.

A season of wandering and apathy towards God and your wellness can actually grow your understanding of your need for Him and the importance of healthy choices.

No matter how far you might have wandered, God invites you to make the decision to return to Him for life, joy and hope.

As you rebuild your routine this fall, I invite you to consider how you center it around growing to know Jesus more deeply and prioritizing the care of your mind, body and soul.

If you're in the Denver area, I'd love to guide you in reconnecting with healthy movement, breath and faith at our Return to the Mat class this month. If not, join our community for online class on the Adoration Yoga YouTube channel!

Hello again! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ

I took August off from teaching in-person yoga classes and from posting on here.

It was a FULL month of family visits, birthday celebrations, lots of playground time, a new school year starting, and spectating our first professional disc golf tournament!

It was an absolute BLAST! I'm also a little worn out. ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm looking forward to getting back on the mat with you and finding new fall rhythms together! ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ’–
