This week last year, I spent 3 days with these beautiful souls on my first yoga retreat.
Here are my biggest takeaways from the time away from my normal, everyday life:
๐นTemporary time away from routines, is necessary (and Biblical) for a healthy perspective and a realignment of the heart.
๐นIt's not possible to pour from an empty cup. Pausing to refuel is absolutely necessary to keep going.
๐นInvestment in your self (mind, body, soul) is also an investment in those around you. You can better love and serve those you're called to serve when you love and care for yourself.
๐นWe can't do anything alone. Community is everything. If you haven't found the people who encourage and help you grow, go find them! They might even be strangers on the Internet. ๐คช
๐นYour struggles, might have solutions that others can obviously see when you can't.
๐นIt's okay to have seasons of growth followed by slower, quieter seasons.
๐นI REALLY love yoga. ๐
Having a yoga class every day (or twice a day) is so so good for my mind, body and soul. I felt so amazing afterward the trip. ๐
So, if you have the opportunity to attend a retreat or do something to care for yourself, then take that opportunity! It is ALWAYS worth the investment and sacrifices to make it happen.
