Barbara is a licensed professional counselor in private practice whose style is strengths-based, collaborative, and eclectic; and whose ultimate purpose is to help facilitate emotional balance and a sense of well-being for her clients. Barbara works especially well with adults who crave long-lasting relief from the lingering effects of trauma (recent or remote past), who welcome help and guidance in the management of anxiety, and who wish to rebuild and experience healthy relationships from the inside out. Barbara is an EMDRIA certified therapist and an EMDR Consultant-in-Training. Her passion for EMDR stems from personal and professional experiences, and she delights with her clients when they move from a dysfunctional “old tape” to more functional “new tape”. Thanks to this deep awakening and awareness of healthier thoughts and beliefs about themselves, clients experience the world differently as a result of this empowering change. Barbara takes great pleasure in providing EMDR consultation to both groups, and to individual EMDR novice clinicians to help them hone their unique style when it comes to successfully utilizing their EMDR skills. In addition to her private practice and EMDR consulting, Barbara is on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Sandplay Therapy Association; is the co-host for monthly Wellness Webinars; and regularly speaks at local, state, and national events. My grateful heart. 💜

A big chunk of the counselors and social workers in McLean County just got trained in a rising therapy model that can help people overcome anxiety, depression, and PTSD. It's called Eye Movement and Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR.

Just finished my final EMDR Basic Training with Scaling Up EMDR for 2025! 🥳

What a joy to connect with nearly 100 clinicians who are ready to elevate their careers with this comprehensive training. And, what a privilege to work with an amazing team of facilitators and admin staff. Feeling soooooo grateful! 😊

I love learning!

Attending an in-person IFS Level 3 training for the week in DC. I’m looking forward the the deepening, the slowing down, and the connecting to IFS colleagues.

I just got home from the Polyvagal Institute Conference on Sunday, had some quality time with dedicated clients, taught 2-days of EMDR Basic training, played with my Colorado grandkids, attended exciting meetings planning for 2026, went to the movies with my beloved, and chatted with dear friends what a week! 💖

Today I finished up two days in a row of virtual teaching EMDR therapy to 95 clinicians from across the country! So many great questions! So many skills learned and so much confidence gained! What an honor to introduce and teach EMDR therapy to so many clinicians.

I couldn't have done it without the amazing curriculum from Scaling Up, an outstanding admin, Marie, and a dedicated group of facilitators. Yay teamwork!!
