Today we share moments from the Celebration of Life service honoring Algernon Jones.

These pictures are more than photographs, they are reflections of a life well lived. They show the love that filled the room, the embraces that spoke louder than words, and the unity of a family standing together in strength.

Every image captures the impact Algernon had on those around him. The smiles through tears. The prayers lifted. The hands held. The shoulders leaned on. It was evident that he touched many lives with his gentle spirit and humble heart.

Most beautiful of all was witnessing a family bonded in love supporting one another, honoring their beloved son and brother, and standing together with dignity. That kind of love is a legacy.

At Marcus A. Allen Funeral Home, it is our honor to serve families during moments like these. We stand with the Jones family and remain committed to preserving memories with care, excellence, and compassion.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate his life and for the continued prayers for this family.

“Honor isn’t just spoken, it is shown in how we stand together.”

It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Algernon Jones, 58, who transitioned on February 11, 2026.

Algernon was born on July 11, 1967, to Mildred Jones and the late Alfred Grider. He received his education in the Orange County School System in Orlando, Florida.

Algernon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was known as a gentle and humble man with a loving spirit. His love for his family and friends was evident in the way he lived his life. One of the most beautiful reflections of his faith was how he would often fall to his knees anywhere and at any time to pray. Today, heaven has gained an angel.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Alice Jones; his father, Alfred Grider; and his uncles, Willie Clarence Jones and Jimmy Lee Jones.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories:
His loving and devoted mother, Mildred Jones; Three brothers, Marquise McDonald (Lake City, FL), Michael McDonald (Mayo, FL), and Derrick Taylor (Orlando, FL); along with a host of extended family and friends.

During this difficult time, Marcus A. Allen Funeral Home stands with the Jones family. We are here to provide unwavering support, compassion, and professional service. Our prayers are with the family, and we ask the community to keep them lifted in prayer.
