Last Yin+Soundbath of the year: Join Suzanna Spring, Nicola Buffa and Kevin Paris for an Autumn Yin Deep Soak to support our immunity as we move toward the colder weather and winter. Autumn season Yin nourishes the lungs, which carry Wei Qi, the protective Qi that builds our immunity The partner organ of the lungs is the large intestine, and this yin practice will nourish both. Soak in the Yin practice with a soundscape from international recording artist Kevin Paris. Then savor a long, restorative Savasana with a soundbath of beautiful crystal bowls, sruti box, gongs and chimes, from acclaimed San Francisco sound healer Nicola Buffa.
Autumn is the season of transition– to earlier sunsets and turning inward. Yin yoga is a deep practice that stimulates connective tissues, lubricates our joints, and nourishes our organs through the energetic meridians of the body. Link in bio.

Late summer is a time between the yang of summer and the yin of Autumn, it is “the time between seasons”, when we feel the desire to find stability and grounding, and a sense of home. Earth element is the realm of digestion: the stomach and its partner organ the spleen, physical digestion, and the digestion/processing of emotions.
Join us for a deep soak yin practice to nourish the stomach and spleen, and to nourish our sense of home and Mother Earth. We’ll finish with an hourlong sound bath specially designed to harmonize earth element and to support the stomach and spleen.

Saturday, August 23rd: A Special Workshop for Yoga Instructors with Winter Brown, PhD, E-RYT800, YACEP and Certified Yoga Therapist. Join Winter Brown for a training to learn best practices for trauma-informed teaching. As our knowledge of the effects of trauma and the trauma response has expanded, it’s essential for yoga instructors to have the teaching tools to encourage students to build interoception (awareness of physical sensation), and to create an environment that feels supportive to all students. You’ll learn trauma-informed teaching skills including Polyvagal theory—the role of the vagus nerve in regulating the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system responses—the “fight or flight” response, and use of language and cueing to create classes that support healing.
For certified yoga instructors: This class will also provide 4.5 hours of Continuing Education credits to satisfy your Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Requirements. Link in bio.

Explore Yin Yoga with transformative longer practices, and learn about The Chinese Five Elements system, the holistic way that eastern wellness views the physical and emotional body, and how a Yin practice can keep joints healthy and our bodies supple. Yin Yoga is also a doorway into a deeper meditation practice.
