People are raving about the transformative experience of Jen's Tuesday night Somatic Breathwork class!

A somatic breathwork class is a guided, therapeutic session using intentional breathing techniques to connect the mind and body, release stored tension, and process emotions. Jen's class involves rhythmic ad circular breathing, accompanied by powerful songs curated from pop to soul and anything that tells the story and sets the mood. The goal is to shift the nervous system from a "fight-or-flight" state to a "rest-and-digest" state. This is NOT a quiet meditative "breath in and out" session - you might be lying on the floor the whole time but you are actively engaged with heavy breathing, long breathing, sighs, groans, and ending with a primal scream!

I like to think of it as Lamaze for Life!

We'll miss Heidi, but she's off to her next adventure in Kentucky!

If you loved Heidi's sound baths, consider Restorative Yoga monthly events with Sue and Michele of Wild Roots of Yoga - each involves just a few resting positions with a full sound bath experience. Some include meditation, while others include reiki offerings as Michele walks the room while you're resting.

Movement as self-care during perimenopause - one woman's hot take:

✨ Repetitive, rhythmic movement signals safety to your nervous system
✨ Music activates dopamine (your feel-good chemical)
✨ Creative expression gives your stress somewhere to go
✨ It gently shifts you out of “fight or flight” and into “rest and restore”

Translation:
You’re not just burning calories… you’re processing stress.

And the best part?
It doesn’t have to be perfect, technical, or serious.

F*** the scale. Do it for fun. Do it for community. Do it for something DIFFERENT.

Sue Montminy has been a wellness practitioner for 25 years. “I consider myself to be an adventurer, I love trying new things, being outdoors (hiking, paddle boarding, kayaking, walking, etc), I am an avid reader and love book recommendations. My joy is practicing yoga, playing my sound healing instruments, hanging with my husband and facetiming my boys and my grandson! My mom is my biggest inspiration. My style of teaching is to meet you where you are, to provide you with a safe place to just be yourself. I hope to see you at our events and classes.”
