We are excited to introduce several new therapists this week! The first of which is Dr. Lewis Harris!

Welcome, my name is Dr. Lewis Harris and I have over 25 years of experience as a therapist. I am currently licensed in the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with supervision being provided by Shawna Munson, M.A. LPC-S.

I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social and Behavioral Science from East-West University in Chicago, my Masters’ Degree in Community Counseling is from Governors State University in Matteson, IL and I received my doctorial degree in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, where I focused on the relationship between trauma and attachment styles. I am an Army veteran and ordained minister.

Although I have been trained and use an integrative/eclectic approach, my belief is that therapy is a journey. As a therapist I believe my job is to engage on the journey with you and assist you in uncovering, discovering and becoming your ultimate self. I have worked with client across the entire spectrum of mental health. Having previously been a client of therapy, I believe I have a unique perspective on the therapeutic process.

My spare time is spent working with others, studying, traveling, working with my church and volunteering with the Red Cross. Although I am horrible at it, I love playing golf. Being that I am a Yankee (I’m from Chicago) transplanted in Texas I am still learning and loving Texas. I look forward to and would consider it an honor and privilege to accompany you on your therapeutic journey.

Hi! My name is Shelley Rhodes. I am licensed through the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and am supervised by Shawna Munson, M.A., LPC-S.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2000 from Lamar University. I was an Elementary School Teacher for 15 years before returning to graduate school where I received my Master of Education in Counseling and Development in 2018, also from Lamar University.

As a mother, grandmother, teacher, and school counselor, I am passionate about helping guide children and their families toward positive and successful solutions to everyday challenges. I am an active disaster relief volunteer. I desire to help those in need.

Life can be overwhelming, and I hope to make you comfortable in reaching out for help. As a counselor, I will act as a guide on your journey to self-exploration. I believe you are the expert of your life. My job is to help you identify and develop your own resources to successfully solve problems and meet challenges. By using thought provoking questions, I hope to increase your level of self-understanding and self-awareness.

In my spare time, I enjoy taking road trips, spending time outdoors, and relaxing with my family. I look forward to building a relationship with you founded on compassion, respect, and trust. In doing so, my goal is to help steer you toward a place of health, healing, and self-acceptance.

Senator Ted Cruz I’m a constituent from Livingston, Tx and a National Certified Counselor and am urging you to support inclusion of the Mental Health Access Improvement Act (H.R. 432/S. 828) in the upcoming Reconciliation Legislation. We need mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists in the Medicare program to help treat beneficiaries with mental health conditions.
