On this date 125 years ago, Park County Sheriff George T Young was killed in the line of duty. We remember Sheriff Young's sacrifice and service. From the Officer Down Memorial Page: Sheriff Young was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a train robbery and murder suspect. The suspect robbed a man on a train enroute to Garrison MT, the suspect left the train when it arrived in Garrison. He made his way to Logan MT where he killed a rancher. The suspect was later spotted at the Springdale MT train station. While Sheriff Young and his Undersheriff were investing they located the suspect on the train platform. The man produced a gun and shot both the Undersheriff and an Sheriff Young. Young was killed. This suspect was never caught and prosecuted for Young's murder. Thank You for you service and sacrifice.
