Congratulations to our latest Daisy Award Honoree, Deanna Ciriaco, RN, Radiation Oncology, who was recognized by a family member for the compassionate care and excellence she provided their loved one.

“As someone who has worked in the medical field for over 24 years, there have been few people I feel deserve an award as much as Deanna. My loved one was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer and has had to undergo weeks of radiation and chemotherapy treatments. The first time we met with Deanna, her energy was amazing, and I could immediately tell that she is someone who really cares about helping patients. It is clear that nursing is not just a job to her. Deanna does not just go above and beyond: she goes to the moon! She always keeps us in the loop, gives us consistent updates, and notifies us quickly of any changes in my mother’s care plan. Under her care, all issues have been resolved immediately. Anytime my mother was feeling down, Deanna was there by her side comforting her. Now that we are in the home stretch of my mother’s treatment, Deanna continues to go above and beyond to keep us updated and my mother comfortable. Over the past 5 weeks, Deanna has made an incredibly stressful time as stress-free as it possibly can be. She is an amazing nurse and deserves recognition. She is an example that all nurses should strive for!”
