Let’s take a moment to celebrate our current EMT class! This incredible group has consistently achieved an impressive average block test score of 90%, and we couldn’t be prouder. We’re excited to share that we’re teaming up with A1 Ambulance to host an EMT class in Butte! If you’re interested in joining, be sure to follow the link and sign up. We had the opportunity to test our new smart manual ventilation feedback device. We are thrilled to have incorporated this tool into our instructional learning.
Why is it important? Inadvertent hyperventilation is common in EMS. There is now overwhelming evidence that even mild to moderate hyperventilation is detrimental to the brain due to vasoconstriction-induced ischemia and other factors.
Our new smart manual ventilation feedback device offers us the ability to learn what high-performance ventilation consists of. It gives us the ability to measure and give real-time feedback on insufflated volume, tidal volume, as well as ventilation rate and gas leakage warnings.
