Hello! My name is Crystal Shilling and I am a clinical social worker and licensed child and adult psychotherapist.

I am an experienced clinical social worker in Michigan with a demonstrated history of working in the field of women's health. Through my private practice, I provide interpersonal psychotherapy to women & girls utilizing a feminist, strengths-based perspective. In addition to my private practice, I am also the owner/operator of a non-profit organization called The Lilith Center for Women & Children. Through this non-profit, I provide free or low-cost individual therapy services to women & teens without insurance. In order to continue to offer these services to at-risk women/teens, I decided to work with my talented partner, a graphic designer, to create empowering merchandise for women. Proceeds from the sales of this merchandise will help to offset the cost of providing therapy services to those who would otherwise go without mental health treatment.

Much of my work as a female therapist is simply holding space to remind the women I work with that we are all human beings with a need to be seen and heard. Women are a powerful force but we are often so busy holding everything together for everyone else that we don't make the space/time necessary for self-care.

Women Hold Up Half the Sky.

I provide empowering, therapeutic support to women & girls because I believe that it is imperative for women to support other women. I also think it's important that women & girls have a realistic representation of what it means to be a woman, mother, sister, wife & daughter. NO filter is required.

I named my business "The Lilith Center for Women & Children" for Lilith, a female figure in mythology who was theorized to be the first wife of Adam. Lilith was said to be banished from the Garden of Eden for not obeying Adam. She insolently refused to be subservient to her husband. Lilith is loosely translated to mean "the night" and she embodies the emotional & spiritual aspects of darkness and unbridled feminine freedom. She is not a demon. Just as an assertive female is not a bitch. She represents feminine power. The divine feminine power.

Women empowering women.

And that is why, I am Lilith's Legacy was born.
