Perry Massage is not just for regular clients or members!
We’re dedicated to giving you the best care and treatment whether it's your first visit or weekly routine.
Here is what you can expect at your first visit.
Warm Welcome:
You can expect a warm welcome from the moment you arrive for your appointment to the moment you leave; we prepare the spa-like tranquil space to leave you feeling relaxed, reset & restored.
Arrive 10 minutes early:
On your first visit, we’ll ask you to fill out a client intake form; this is so that your therapist can learn what your unique needs are, any health concerns, and can customize the service accordingly.
The information you fill out remains confidential between you and Perry Massage. You’ll fill in any medical history, past or present injuries and any other physical conditions that may affect the massage or treatment.
We will review this intake form with you and may inquire about the reason you are coming for a massage, your physical condition, and any muscles which are exhibiting pain or other symptoms.
Professionalism:
If the therapist determines your health conditions are sufficient to receive treatment, you’ll be brought to a peaceful and spa like treatment room where a comfortable massage table is dressed with a warming blanket and fresh linens.
A space for your personal belongings and a bench are provided for your use.
Your therapist will leave the room and wait outside while you disrobe to the level of your comfort. Some clients prefer to completely disrobe, while some like to remain partially clothed.
Once disrobed you will lie on the massage table, under the top sheet & blanket. We give you a few minutes for this process and will ask if you are ready before entering the room.
Draping:
You will always be draped with the top sheet and a blanket during your massage session.
You can expect a tranquil and comfortable environment during your massage. The massage table is padded, and a heating blanket, which you can have adjusted to your liking at any time during the session.
Soothing music will be in the background, and unless you request otherwise, the room will be quiet, with no outside distractions.
The therapist will only uncover the muscle group that they are working on, (Therapists by state law never work on or uncover private areas, ensuring that your privacy is respected at all times.)
Healthcare practice:
Before beginning the session, we will ask you to alert us if any technique or stroke that we are using is uncomfortable and will check in during the session to see if the pressure needs to be adjusted to what your body needs. You as the client are in complete control of the session, for instance, if you decide to end the session early or pause the session if needed to use the restroom or rehydrate, we will happily let you do so.
Depending on your needs, we will either perform a customized full-body massage for general relaxation and stress reduction, or focus on the specific areas of your body that you have requested.
Once your massage therapy session is completed, your therapist will leave the room so you can re-dress. Once dressed, and you exit the room, be sure to have any questions or concerns addressed to your therapist as you discuss future treatment plans and if and when to rebook a future session.
Post-Massage:
After your massage, you may experience subtle differences in your body and mind. Here are some steps that will help you get the most from your massage:
1 Drinking extra water assists in reducing soreness and fatigue after a massage.
2 If the reason for your massage is on a particular injury or body part, remember to stretch, ice, or apply heat to the area. You may want to do some gentle movement, such as walking, sometime in the hours after your massage to remind your muscles to work in a balanced an efficient way.
3 Make time to go easy after your massage. Rest or lightly stretch if you feel the need. If you can, take a nap or get in bed early. If you haven't been sleeping well, the massage may put you in a state of relaxation that you will want to turn in early.
4 Sometimes people experience soreness for 24 hours or so after a massage. If you do, or think that you might, stretch gently in a hot shower, or take a bath with Epsom salts. Remember to communicate with your therapist about your experience so they can be aware for your next session when you re-book.
