The Teal Yogi

The Teal Yogi We’re here to guide you every step of the way. Why Teal? Teal combines the life-giving energy of green with the calming energy of blue.

Welcome to The Teal Yogi – where healing meets empowerment. 🌿✨
We specialize in trauma-sensitive yoga and meditation, offering a safe, supportive space to reconnect with your mind, body, and soul. Much like yoga, it embodies a balance between rejuvenation and serenity. Yoga offers us strength when we feel weak, community when we feel isolated, and a voice when we feel silenced. It heals the body when we are injured and supports the mind when we are struggling. Yoga is a journey to rediscover our true selves and feel whole again. At The Teal Yogi, we know how powerful that journey can be. We’re committed to providing a space where you can reconnect with your body and mind through thoughtful, trauma-sensitive practices. With anatomy-based, conscious movement techniques and meditative exercises, our classes are designed to support healing from physical and emotional trauma. Our mission is to empower each individual on their path to healing and self-discovery. Whether you're joining us for a group class, workshop, or private session, you’ll find a welcoming, safe space where healing meets empowerment.

You didn’t become a yoga teacher just to lead poses.

You became a yoga teacher to make an impact — to help people feel better in their bodies, calmer in their minds, and more connected to themselves.

But many teachers discover something after graduating YTT:

Knowing *how to sequence* isn’t the same as knowing *how to truly hold space.*

If you feel that quiet nudge —
the one that says, *“There’s more I’m meant to do with this practice”* — you’re not imagining it.

Our 200-hour training at The Teal Yogi is designed for teachers who want to deepen their impact, not just add another certification.

This is not a performative training.
It’s grounded.
Trauma-informed.
Nervous-system-aware.
Community-rooted.

Orientation begins June 20.

Come learn to teach yoga in a way that actually changes lives — including your own.

New teachers — this is for you.
If you graduated from a YTT and still feel unsure about:
• What to say when someone cries in class
• How to adjust pacing for anxiety
• How to offer choice without sounding unsure
• How to create emotional safety
You’re not alone.
Most 200-hour programs don’t teach this.
Ours does.
Our Healing-Centered Teaching Method focuses heavily on:
Nervous system regulation
Trauma-sensitive language
Somatic sequencing
Leadership + ethics
You deserve to feel confident holding space.
Next cohort begins June 20:

The words we use as teachers matter more than we often realize.
A cue that seems simple — like “close your eyes” — can feel completely different depending on someone’s life experience.
For some students, closing their eyes in a room full of strangers feels peaceful.
For others, it can feel incredibly vulnerable.
Trauma-sensitive yoga isn’t about removing experiences.
It’s about offering choice.
Small shifts in language can change the entire experience of a class.
“Close your eyes” becomes
“If it feels comfortable, you might soften your gaze or close your eyes.”
That moment of choice gives students something powerful:
Agency in their own body.
And that’s where healing begins.
✨ If you’re a teacher who wants to create safer, more supportive spaces for students, this work matters.
You can start learning trauma-sensitive approaches today with guidance and support from The Teal Yogi community.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do… is relax.
If your life has required you to stay strong for everyone else —
caretaking, holding things together, managing stress, pushing through —
your nervous system learns something important:
Stay alert.
Stay ready.
Stay in control.
So when someone suddenly says, “just relax”, your body might respond with tension instead of calm.
And that doesn’t mean you’re doing yoga wrong.
It means your body has been protecting you.
At The Teal Yogi, we don’t force relaxation.
Instead, we create space for your body to slowly remember what safety feels like — through gentle movement, breath, and small moments of awareness.
Because healing doesn’t come from pushing harder.
It comes from learning how to listen to your body again.
✨ If you’re ready to begin that process, you don’t have to do it alone.
Get started today and receive support every step of the way inside our trauma-sensitive yoga community.

Today we celebrate the strength of women.

Not just the loud, visible strength the world applauds…
but the quiet strength that often goes unseen.

The strength of the woman who holds her family together.
The woman navigating grief while still showing up for others.
The woman carrying responsibilities that feel heavier than anyone realizes.

The strength of the woman who is learning to heal.
The woman who is rediscovering her dreams.
The woman who keeps choosing hope, even on the hard days.

If you see yourself in any part of this…
this day is for you. 💙

You deserve spaces where you don’t have to carry everything alone.
You deserve moments to breathe, rest, and reconnect with yourself.

Today we honor the strength behind it all.

Happy International Women’s Day.

Most people think regulating their nervous system requires a long meditation or a complicated practice.
But sometimes the shift begins with something much simpler.
Just noticing.
The feeling of your feet on the floor.
The subtle way your weight shifts forward or back.
The quiet sensation of being supported by the ground beneath you.
These tiny moments of awareness send an important message to your nervous system:
You are here.
You are safe enough to notice.
You can come back into your body.
And over time, those small moments add up.
They help rebuild the connection between your mind and body — the one stress and trauma often interrupt.
✨ If you’re ready to reconnect with your body in a gentle, supportive way, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Get started today and receive support throughout your entire process at The Teal Yogi.

Trauma-sensitive yoga isn’t about “teaching trauma survivors.”
It’s about understanding that:
Every nervous system walks into your class with a history.

When you understand regulation, pacing, and language, your classes shift.
Students:
• Stay longer
• Feel safer
• Refer friends
• Open up
• Actually integrate the practice

That’s why our 200-hour training at The Teal Yogi centers nervous system literacy and somatic sequencing from day one.

If you want to teach in a way that builds resilience — not just flexibility — we’d love to support you.

Yoga can be deeply healing.
Movement helps release stress from the body.
Breath helps regulate the nervous system.
Awareness helps us reconnect with ourselves.
But a yoga class isn’t meant to hold everyone’s trauma stories.
And that’s actually what allows it to feel safe.
When a class becomes a space where people feel pressure to share or process heavy emotions publicly, it can overwhelm the nervous system — especially for those who came simply looking for a moment of peace.
Trauma-sensitive yoga offers something different.
A space where you can explore your own experience quietly.
No pressure to perform.
No pressure to share.
Just the opportunity to reconnect with your body in a way that feels safe for you.
Sometimes healing happens not through talking… but through feeling supported enough to simply be.
✨ If you’ve been searching for a yoga space that honors your pace and your process, we’re here for you.
You can get started today and receive support throughout your entire healing journey at The Teal Yogi.
