Our page has been quiet in 2021, but our sewing machines have continued to be very busy. So far, we’ve provided more than 5,000 Room to Sing Masks to individuals and choirs all over North America since August 2020. We also moved our business and family from Utah to Indiana this past summer and fall. As we are settled in and sewing again on our Indiana homestead, we wanted to thank you for your business. Much appreciated.

Singer’s masks are not just for singing, and now they are available either in quilters cotton (dozens of fabric options) or in multiple layers of non-woven spunbond polypropylene (NWPP) offering improved filtration, breathability and acoustics while still being washable and reusable. We can also sew NWPP singers masks with a layer of cotton or cotton edging to match the aesthetic you need. If you prefer to boost the filtration level of a Room to Sing Mask you already own, let us know - we have solutions for that also.

The best way to care for your is a little TLC. Your masks can also be washed on delicate in the laundry, protected in a mesh or muslin bag.

The reason for this season was celebrated on Saturday. Singing in this chorus is the reason we started sewing. This weekend performance was worth every stitch.

Today’s masks were a labor of love. A chiffon mask worthy of a performance of Carmen or some Christmas caroling, a concert black option, and a super soft light gray mask for every day use.

Today is one of the reasons why we sew singer's masks. Our teenage makers have an incredible opportunity to perform tonight even in the midst of a pandemic surge in our community. No in person audience members will be present (not even parents), vocalists will be masked and distanced in a very large room, live streamed to YouTube where family members and others will loudly applaud from home and no one will hear us. But the Heritage Youth Chorus choir members will know we are cheering them on as they share their message.

Every mask has a story yet to be told. We like to think about the people behind each mask as we sew. Two days ago, we scrambled to complete 70 of almost 150 masks for one of the nation’s most prestigious performing arts colleges.

Yesterday, we celebrated masked beatboxing with a group of college vocalists with their immense talent and spirit, and we listened to recordings and interviews of an acclaimed vocalist for whom we will be sewing this week - she has many award winning performances and will be singing next week in ‘our mask’ in the heart of Manhattan.

Then there’s these masks, a stonewashed black, completing today their order of 100 masks for a middle school performing arts program in an urban school about a hundred miles from us. We’ll be delivering these masks to the vocal arts teacher tonight. She, and the other teachers and administrators at the school believe in these kids. We’ve met them - when we delivered sample masks a few weeks ago. Bright eyed and hopeful, many facing challenging circumstances at home, these students are mostly young men who are just beginning the journey of discovering their voice and their talents.

We believe in them too. Who knows? Maybe one day one of them will attend that school in NYC or perform opera on stage at Lincoln Center or in some other venue. Perhaps keeping the music going even in the midst of 2020 will matter in some profound way we don’t yet understand. Maybe...every mask and every voice matters.
