Judith "Judy" A. McNarny, age 87, formerly of Logansport, passed away Monday afternoon, March 2, 2026, in Bonita Springs, Florida, where she currently resided.
A native of Indianapolis, Judy spent several years in Kankakee, Illinois; Beverly and Wilmette in Chicago, Illinois; and more than 40 years in Logansport, Indiana.
Judy was a graduate of Lawrence Central High School and Indiana University with a B.S. in Business Education and minor in English. She earned a M.S. in Guidance Counseling from Butler University. Her teaching experience ranged from educator of Business and English at Lawrence Central High School to instructor at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Judy began her real estate career in 1979 with the Brokerage House Corp., and in 1991 she and her business partner, Barb Wolfe, formed McNarny and Wolfe Realtors, Inc. in Logansport, which she successfully co-owned and operated for many years.
She was very active in the community and served in many capacities. Her Logansport involvements include Logansport Rotary Club where she was the 1st female President; Rotary Anns, past President; Cass County Family Y, past Treasurer and Board member; Cass County Indiana University Alumni Club, past President and Board member; Tri Kappa Sorority, Literacy Chairman, Corresponding Secretary and Board member; Cass County Historical Society member; Logansport Art Association member; Cass County Board of Realtors Board member; Mary Dykeman Hospital Auxiliary volunteer and Logansport Redevelopment Commission member.
Judy was also very involved in the Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce as a former Board member and Vice President and served on various committees. For the better part of 30 years, she and Paul Kroeger co-hosted the weekly radio program, “The Chamber Today”, on stations WSAL and WLHM.
Judy’s faith was very important to her, and as a long- time faithful member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, she served as Trustee, Elder and Deacon.
Judy was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, where she volunteered as the Alumni Rush Chairman for many years at Indiana University in Bloomington and was active in the Indianapolis Alumni chapter. She was a former Foundation Board member and Chancellor Search Committee member for Indiana University Kokomo.
Judy has been married to Patrick McNarny for more than 65 years and was an incredibly loving and supportive wife. She was a wonderful mother to Kelly and Mike and an amazing Grandma. She adored her 3 grandsons, Mike, Ryan and Matt and spent so much time with them while they were growing up. One of her favorite things was spending time at Lake Maxinkuckee with her children and grandchildren, boating, resting, reading, doing puzzles, and walking. She loved to take her grandsons tubing on the lake, often successfully tipping over the tube after they challenged her to try to do so. She was an avid sports fan, especially IU basketball and Indianapolis Colts football, and she loved attending her grandsons’ many sporting events.
Judy spent her entire life serving and taking care of others. She faithfully sent birthday and anniversary cards for so many years to numerous friends and acquaintances and never failed to offer assistance to anyone in need of help. She was the first one to volunteer and always thought of others first. Her motto was “If life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” and her sunny optimism always brightened up anyone who was with her. She was an amazing woman, and we are all so incredibly thankful to have had the opportunity to know and love her. She will be deeply missed.
Surviving is her daughter, Kelly Diane Millikin (fiancé, Tim Holscher); grandchildren, Michael John Millikin, Ryan Patrick Millikin and Matthew Allen Millikin.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lawrence McNarny, her mother, Orpha (Nuzum) Hinds and her father Lawrence Howard Hinds.
