Did you know we offer a Respite Stay program at Miller's Merry Manor? These stays can be from 1 day to 30 days depending on need. Miller’s Merry Manor recognizes that providing care for a loved one over a period of time may become stressful and tiresome for the caregiver. Often, some form of temporary relief may be necessary.

Miller’s Merry Manor offers a short term stay program that will allow a caregiver to take a vacation or take some time for personal health, business matters, or leisure while assuring them that their loved one is being well cared for while they are away. Those who have used the respite service recently comment, "I wish we had done this sooner," and "I will definitely do this again."

It's National Doctors' Day and we are so blessed to have two outstanding Doctors that see the residents at Miller's Merry Manor, Dr. Cherie Bennett and Dr. Dallis Bowditch.

Dr. Bennett rounds on her patients that are staying with us at Miller's Merry Manor whether they are short or long term and the residents, families, and staff are so thankful to be able to talk directly with both of the doctors for any needs.

Dr. Bowditch is the best Medical Director anyone could ask for. He has been our Medical Director for 40 years, since we opened in 1984. We appreciate all that he does every day to help both residents and staff.

At Miller's Merry Manor, we hold care plan meetings shortly after admission, prior to discharge, and for long-term residents, we hold them at least quarterly. A care plan meeting is a conference where staff, residents, and families review and adjust the resident's individualized plan of care, covering medical, physical, social, and emotional needs. It serves to set goals, ensure preferences are met, and outline specific instructions for staff to maintain the resident's highest well-being.

Care plans can also be requested by families or residents at any time. Care plan meetings help us come together in the beginning, stay together on the same page, and work together for success.
