Some clarification in regards to the Tier 3 Resurgence Mitigations!

I am not required to close at this time. HOWEVER, starting Friday, November 20th, you will need to get "documentation of medical necessity completed by a medical professional" to book a massage. Basically, you need to get a doctor's note or perscription that clearly states you need a massage for a specific reason.

For example:
- Massage to help manage chronic pain from a previous injury or surgery.
-To manage the symptoms of chronic or autoimmune disorder such as fibromyalgia or rheumatoid arthritis.
- Help relieve side effects from migraines, etc.

These new guidelines could change at any time, and I will update you as soon as I find out anything new. Over the next few days, I'll be contacting anyone who has an appointment scheduled within the next two weeks to further discuss this.

Thank you so much for your patience!

FYI, since I've been getting lots of emails about this, this rollback does not affect my business or any other spa/personal care services.

Keep wearing your masks in public spaces and practicing social distancing when possible. 😷

Positivity rates continue to increase for Region 8, including Lombard, reaching 9.2% today. Due to the increase of COVID-19 spread, heightened mitigation measures will be put in place by the State of Illinois for our Region, beginning 12:01 a.m. on Friday, October 23rd. As this includes the restriction of indoor dining, the Village is strongly encouraging residents to support local restaurants and businesses during this challenging time.

Ordering food for pick up or delivery is a way that you can help support your local restaurants. You can also support our region by doing your part to help slow the spread of illness. In addition, a number of restaurants may choose to remain open for outdoor dining. To help support Lombard restaurants, Village staff will be compiling a list of these locations, and will share it in the near future.

Mitigation measures are based on COVID-19 positivity rates. In order to return to Phase 4, COVID-19 positivity rates must be less than or equal to 6.5% over a 3 day period. To help decrease our region’s positivity rate and return to Phase 4, residents are strongly urged to follow the 3 W’s that include: washing hands, watching your distance, and wearing a mask.

For updates on COVID-19 positivity rates in Region 8, visit the IDPH website at https://www.dph.illinois.gov/regionmetrics?regionID=8

I've had a lot of you ask about the air purifier I use in my massage studio. The brand I use at work and in my home is Blueair. They have really good reviews, are reasonably priced, and don't make a lot of noise. I run mine 24/7 and have noticed a significant improvement in my seasonal allergy symptoms and less dust.

With the temps getting colder and more people wanting to stay indoors, making sure you have good ventilation and air flow is very important. When shopping for an HEPA air purifier, you want to make sure it filters out 0.5 microns or smaller and exchanges the air every 12-15 minutes.

Happy Friday!

Illinois has seen a recent uptick in Covid-19 cases. Keep avoiding crowds, practice good hand hygiene, and wear a mask when out in public. 😷

*Also, I'm sharing this video because while it does have very useful information, my inner 10 year old can't resist sharing "fart science" content. 😄

Lombard will move from Phase 3 to Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois Plan tomorrow, Friday, June 26. As we continue to move forward as a community, we are excited about new opportunities to visit and shop at Lombard restaurants and businesses, and to get back to some of our favorite pastimes.

Yorktown Center is happy to announce that almost 80% of their stores are open for your shopping needs! Yorktown is also looking forward to the reopening of restaurants in their Eatery and are preparing to implement the required seating restrictions and safety measures. You can also enjoy some summer movies at the AMC Theater at Yorktown, beginning July 15th.

The Lombard community offers numerous opportunities for dining and shopping. Many businesses will continue to offer curbside pick-up and delivery, but indoor dining and outdoor dining at your favorite restaurants may also soon be available! From downtown Lombard to Yorktown Shopping Center, and the shops and restaurants along Butterfield and Roosevelt, residents are reminded to dine and shop local!

It is our hope that residents will recognize the importance of supporting local businesses at this important time. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we said “we will get through this together,” and this statement rings truer than ever. Whether you are supporting your neighborhood restaurant, purchasing a birthday gift or gift card from a small business, or seeing a movie and shopping at Yorktown Center, we thank you for your support of local businesses.

While we celebrate this next step in restoring our local economy, we do so with a heightened responsibility to the health and safety of our family, friends, neighbors, and essential workers. COVID-19 is an active part of our day-to-day lives and prevention is key. Customers should expect to maintain social distancing and to comply with restrictions in place. Please continue to wear masks in situations when a minimum of 6’ of social distance cannot be maintained and remember to wash your hands with soap and water often.

We will continue to get through this together Lombard Strong!

Since Covid hospitalizations and deaths have been on a steady decline in Illinois, it looks like we're moving into Phase 4 this week. Keep wearing your masks, avoid crowds, and stay home when you're feeling sick. It's working! 😷

In case you didn't see the emails I've been sending, I'm back to work and currently not accepting new clients. If you have seen me before and are having trouble logging in to schedule an appointment, shoot me an email and I'll get you set up ASAP!

In the studio today to drop off some of the supplies that have come in and to do a deep cleaning.

Things I’m still waiting to arrive:

1. HEPA air filter
2. Spa aprons and scrub caps (I need to change my PPE between every massage)
3. Vinyl covers for my massage table and face cradle (so I can keep my table sanitized).

You’ll also notice that the towels will now be kept tucked away in a container to keep them fresh and sanitized until use and my cups have been put away. I know it’s not going to be the most relaxing experience with having to wear a mask and constantly sanitizing every surface at every moment, but I’m doing my best to make your session as safe and as comfortable as I can.

Illinois has finally put out their Phase 3 Guidelines for Personal Care and Services (Salons, Barbershops, Spas, etc.)

Some things to take note of is that in Phase 3, Massage and Body Treatments (wraps, waxing, scrubs, etc.) are to be 30 minutes or less.

I'm still waiting on backordered/out of stock supplies to come in, but know that when I do reopen in Phase 3, I'll only be able to offer 30 minute treatments.

05/22/2020

I've gotten a bunch of emails today asking if I'm going to be open on June 1st. The answer is NO. I just got my re-opening guidelines from the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards and I'm still waiting on any updated guidelines from IDPH and the Village of Lombard.

I cannot re-open until I have all the necessary PPE, equipment, and sanitation supplies. I'm competing with every other business that is trying to re-open and the supply chain can't catch up. I will let you know when i can start taking appointments.

Please be patient. ❤️

For those of you who are essential workers or anyone who is having a hard time finding hand sanitizer, this is a great deal!

This formula uses 80% alcohol and is what I will be using in my massage studio going forward. I have been using PurePro massage lotion for years now, and I trust their quality.

Feel free to share this info. 🤗

Based on this information, you can plan on me re-opening somewhere between the end of phase 3 and the start of phase 4. (Depending on supply chains and how much PPE I can aquire.) 😷

Gov. J.B. Pritzker has now revealed details on a five-phased plan to reopen Illinois as the state remains under a stay-at-home order through May 30. “We have to figure out how to live with COVID-19 until it can be vanquished – and to do so in a way that best supports our residents’ health and ...
