Jerome Egle founded Egle Nursing and Rehab Center in July of 1977. The nursing facility has seen many changes in its rich history, the grandest being an expansion in size from 24 to 66 beds in 1992. In 2000, the facility was purchased by G.C. Healthcare is locally owned by Jeff Metz, David Lauder, Troy Raines, and Barbara Lauder. With its 100 employees, the nursing facility is one of the major employers of the George's Creek Valley in Lonaconing, Maryland. Recent years have seen the addition of a complete rehabilitation unit, an Alzheimer's care program, and progressive skilled nursing care. Egle consistently ranks in the Top 10 of all facilities in Maryland. Egle operates on a philosophy of care that is solely centered on the needs of its residents.
