The Madison County Local Food Council is collecting food and kitchen items for National Nutrition Month. All donations will be given to our local food pantries and WIC.

March is National Nutrition Month and to celebrate, the Madison County Local Food Council will be holding a food drive through March. Donations will be distributed to MCPH WIC participants and food pantries within Madison County. Please drop off donations to any participating drop off site below.

We would like to thank London Middle School for hosting the Prevention team's Hidden in Plain Sight program. The soft re-launch of this program received a great response and educated participants on the ways that substances can be hidden in everyday items. We have big plans for expanding on this program and making it more accessible to our communities, so much more to come in the near future! Stay tuned! 🤩

In honor of President's Day, MCPH will be closed on Monday, February 16th. We will be open normal hours at 8:30am on Tuesday, February 17th.

Yesterday the Safe Communities Coalition attended Pop with a Cop at Tolles Career & Technical Center. The criminal justice students were able to ask questions and make connections with local law enforcement.

For Black History Month we are highlighting Dr. Minnie "Joycelyn" Elders - a public health trailblazer who forged a path of advocacy for children and youth despite being born and raised in segregated Arkansas in 1933. Dr. Elders understood the importance of equitable health systems that focus on child and adolescent health and wellbeing, and possesses an impressive resume of accomplishments. Thank you, Dr. Elders for your work in public health and prevention!

Last night the Mental Health Recovery Board of Clark, Greene & Madison Counties recognized Sydney Robare, Prevention Educator, as the recipient of this year’s Jon "Charlie" Alder Award - For Outstanding Contributions to Mental Health, Alcohol & Drug Services in Madison County! Sydney uses epidemiological concepts to collect data and build meaningful prevention programs for Madison County residents. Her contributions also include mobile crisis response through the Connect & Protect grant, which has diverted multiple arrests and ED admissions. Congratulations!
