March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month and if you are 50 or older, make a colonoscopy part of your routine preventative health care.
Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among Americans, and a colonoscopy is the single best test to detect cancer or precancerous colon polyps. Since symptoms may be absent, a colonoscopy may be the only way to detect and prevent cancer from developing. When found and treated early, colon cancer is one of the most curable forms.
To schedule a colonoscopy at Madison Health, please talk with your primary care provider or call 740.845.7500.
