Today is World Float Day, created to honor the science and intention behind float therapy.
Floating originated in the 1950s when neuroscientist, John C Lilly, began studying how the brain and nervous system respond to the absence of external stimulation. What he discovered was simple and powerful: when the body is given true rest, it knows how to regulate and recover on its own.
World Float Day exists as a reminder that rest is not a luxury. It is a biological need.
