Vaccine Q&A

As a health care provider I am asked questions about public health topics. After extensive research, I wanted to answer some frequently asked covid vaccine questions I’ve been asked. I would like to preface that I would never tell someone what to do with their body, this is merely to inform. If you would like further details to these answers, feel free to ask.

Q: Is this vaccine a live virus?
A: No. The covid vaccine uses mRNA technology and involves no live virus.

Q: Can it change my DNA?
A: No. mRNA technology does not and can not change your DNA

Q: Is this a new technology? Did it skip steps to come out so fast?
A: mRNA technology was originally discovered in 1961. It has been rigorously studied for over a decade now. It has gone through all the same stages any other vaccine trial goes through. It just didn’t have the hold up of all the red tape these things usually go through.

Q: What about the long term effects?
Historically, 90-95% of long term effects are shown within the first 45 days after getting a vaccine. This is why we had to wait for approval until 60 days after a portion of trial participants (50%) had received their second dose. Historically speaking, the long term effects would be shown.

In closing, this post is not meant to tell anyone whether or not to get vaccinated.
Be careful what you read online and always check your sources!

I am happy to announce that as of June 15th, Premier Physical Therapy will be open full time again!

As we reopen we hope that anyone in need of physical therapy services would please keep us in mind. Like many businesses, it is a struggle to stay afloat during these unprecedented times. Please remember that along with any injury or pain you have, we can also treat weakness and/or balance deficits.
If you have ever felt the need for PT, now would be the time to give your business to any of your local clinics as we try to rebuild our caseloads.

We will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC in regards to policies and procedures in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
We look forward to seeing everyone again and welcoming new patients.

To our valued patients,

Despite being categorized as an essential business and after long thought following the Governor’s order, Premier Physical Therapy will only be seeing patients in the clinic who are rated as “high need”, which is primarily made up of acute post operative patients. We will continue to provide care to others via virtual visits, also known as telehealth.

We are trying to do our part to keep COVID-19 from spreading, and this seems like the most responsible step to take.

This limited access to patients will remain in place for as long as the Governor’s stay at home order is active. We will continually monitor information from the state government, federal government, and the CDC.

We look forward to opening our doors again once it is deemed safe and serving the public like we have for the last 7 years.
