2026 State FFA Convention is in the books!

Failed to get any pictures for the first 75% of the day, whoops! If anyone has pics you’d like added to the post for memories please add them or send to Davidson if you are unable.

This morning members attended a leadership workshop before browsing the career fair and expo. We were able to catch up with old friends and take in some sights around campus.

Went to lunch at COMO Smoke and Fire and we want to give a big THANK YOU to the Lone Jack Education Foundation for helping to pay for the meal!

We had a show watching RK Jigs work his calling magic on a banded Canada Goose just wandering around the Hy-Vee parking lot!

Recharged the batteries with a little fishing and siesta at the Bass Pro pond.

Headed back to Mizzou Arena for the final session of convention where we and 10,000+ other members and guests heard four retiring officer addresses, a keynote message from the MU President, watched FFA talent, recognized some of the top placing CDE teams and most importantly cheered on Mavrick, Ryan and Mylee for receiving their State FFA Degrees! Mavrick was also recognized separately for being the Area 7 Star in Agribusiness!!

Convention time always gives the opportunity to reflect on the past year and build momentum going into the future. It’s fun and encouraging to find motivation when you’re celebrating the best successes of Missouri’s 26,830 FFA members. Had some good conversations in the van on the way home about possibilities in the next school year. Keep it up!

Day 1 of State Convention is wrapping up.

Rolled out of the LJHS parking lot at 4:45 this morning for 7:30 ag mech check in.

Ag Mechanics team competed and finished with a Silver rating in 25th place. Mavy T earned a Gold/Group 1 individual rating and finished 31st overall.

Mylee and Sophia represented our chapter as voting delegates during the business session.

LJ FFA received the National Superior Chapter Award.

Rounded out the day with afternoon power naps, go cart racing, batting cages, mini golf, driving range and some Randy’s frozen custard.

Looking forward to leadership workshops, career expo, state degrees and Star Agribusiness award tomorrow!

The 26-27 LJ Officer applications have been posted in Google Classroom. Completed apps are due by 3:15pm on Wednesday, April 15th and do require signatures.

LJ FFA is sending good vibes to Senior member Mavrick Trammell who will be interviewing for the 2026 Star in Agribusiness tomorrow in Columbia, a first in our chapter's history!
Results to be announced next week at the Missouri FFA Association State Convention where Mav, Ryan, AJ and Sam will be competing in Ag Mechanics!
Today, Mav is in Linn competing at the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference in the welding competition!

10 LJ FFA members traveled to UCM in Warrensburg for the Central District Career Development Events today. Earning a Gold rating, the ag mechanics team qualified for state and will compete in Columbia during the State FFA Convention in April!
The meats team earned a silver rating and we had incomplete teams compete in livestock and poultry.

LJ FFA members traveled north for the first CDE contest of the year on Friday.
The day was highlighted with the Ag Mechanic team’s fourth place finish, led by seniors Mavy T and RK Jigs who placed FIRST and SECOND overall out of 112 competitors!!
We also had students compete in Meats, Livestock and Poultry evaluation who all gained valuable experience.
