At just 28 years old, Ashlee Belvill was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. As she began cancer treatment, one powerful motivation carried her through every challenge — her son, LJ.
“He is my reason for fighting like I did,” Ashlee says. “I just thought, ‘I can’t die.’”
After complications caused her cancer to progress, Ashlee’s care was transferred to Colorado Blood Cancer Institute, part of HCA HealthONE. There, specialists determined she was a candidate for an autologous stem cell transplant, an advanced treatment that uses a patient’s own cells to help restore healthy blood and immune function.
Following weeks of intensive treatment and months of recovery, Ashlee was declared in remission in August 2020.
Today, she’s healthy, thriving and grateful for the everyday moments she once feared she might lose — supported by a care team who made her feel truly understood.
