Regular PSA testing is one of the most effective ways to catch prostate cancer early, when it’s highly treatable. Most men should discuss starting PSA screening with their doctor as earlier as age 45, and those at higher risk, like African American men or men with a family history, may need to begin earlier. A simple blood test can make a big difference in protecting your health. Learn more here: https://www.denverurology.com/urology/psa-testing/

Do you know the risk factors for prostate cancer?
-Race & Ethnicity: Prostate cancer is about 70% more common in Black men than in White men. It occurs less often in Asian American and Hispanic men.
-Family History: A father, brother, or grandfather with prostate cancer increases your risk. Family history of breast or ovarian cancer can also raise risk.
-Weight: Being overweight in your 50s or later is linked to a greater chance of developing advanced prostate cancer. Maintaining a healthy weight lowers risk.
Prostate cancer can be a serious disease, but the good news is that most men diagnosed with it do not die from it. Today, more than 3.5 million men in the U.S. who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer are still alive. The death rate from prostate cancer has dropped by roughly half since 1993, thanks to earlier detection through screenings and advances in treatment. There are now many effective treatment options, from surgery and radiation to newer, minimally invasive therapies, allowing care to be tailored to each patient’s needs and lifestyle.

Anova Cancer Care has one of the most experienced CyberKnife teams in the United States, and has been recognized as the most experienced clinic in the world for prostate cancer radiosurgery.
Anova Caner Care treats bone, brain, spine, lung, kidney, prostate, pancreatic, liver and other cancer patients using CyberKnife radiosurgery technology, including trigeminal neuralgia, acoustic neuroma, and arteriovenus malformations (AVM).
Many of our Denver cancer patients are treated with the CyberKnife for conditions that have been deemed inoperable or from areas that have previously received the maximum level of radiation. The range, accuracy and precision of the CyberKnife system can help target areas that may not be suitable for treatments with traditional surgery, radiation therapy or older radiosurgery systems, such as the gamma knife.
