More often than not, back pain is not the result of some underlying disease, but is instead the result of regularly doing things that are causing strain and pain.
Examples include: working out or lifting with improper form, prolonged sitting and lying down, sleeping in an uncomfortable position, or wearing a poorly fitting backpack.
Some adjustments (yes, pun absolutely intended 😜) to avoid injury and misuse:
🔹 Consider a session or two with a personal trainer or a more seasoned gym guru who can coach proper lifting form
🔹 Take a few short walks during work breaks or consider a standing desk to get up on your feet more frequently throughout the day
🔹 Upgrade your pillow for more neck support while sleeping and adjust your sleeping position to take pressure of your spine and low back. If you're a side sleeper, slightly bend your knees and consider sleeping with a small pillow between your legs
🔹 Make sure backpack weight doesn't exceed 10% of your body weight, organize heavier items towards the back, and adjust straps so that the pack sits snugly against the back.
And, as always, keep up those maintenance adjustments with your favorite chiropractor 👍😜
