Our Method
The Human Aeon Method combines breathwork, meditation, functional movement, and contrast therapy. These pillars are used to train the nervous system, increase stress tolerance, sharpen internal awareness, and build deliberate control over physiological and mental states.

Breathwork
Breathwork influences the nervous system through carbon dioxide tolerance and vagal signaling. This supports a shift out of chronic stress patterns and improves emotional regulation and focus.

Cold exposure
Cold exposure briefly activates the sympathetic nervous system, followed by a parasympathetic rebound. With repeated exposure, this is associated with improved stress tolerance, inflammation regulation, and mood stability.

Heat exposure
Heat exposure through sauna raises core temperature, increases circulation, and triggers heat shock proteins. These cellular responses are linked in population studies to cardiovascular health, recovery, and longevity.

Movement
Functional movement restores joint range, improves proprioception, and signals safety to the nervous system. This counteracts the rigidity created by prolonged sitting and sustained stress.

Meditation
Meditation trains attention and interoception. Over time, it alters how the brain responds to stress, reducing reactivity and supporting mental clarity rather than suppressing thought.

Garden environment
Time in natural environments is associated with lower cortisol, reduced blood pressure, and decreased mental fatigue. Even brief exposure can shift the nervous system toward a more regulated baseline.

Together, these practices work by training core physiological systems. The goal is not force or performance, but restoring the body’s capacity to regulate itself.

About Human Aeon
Human Aeon is a modern wellness sanctuary located in the heart of Belmont Shore, Long Beach. Our facility includes a meditation room, traditional dry saunas, an infrared sauna, cold plunge, hot tub, movement studio, and a tea lounge.

What Is a Sanctuary Session at Human Aeon?
A Sanctuary Session is a 90-minute experience with full access to our Hidden Sanctuary. Guests move through breathwork, cold plunge, hot tub, infrared sauna, and traditional dry saunas, with space to rest, meditate, and move. Sessions can be guided by an instructor or experienced fully self-directed, depending on what your body needs that day. The experience is set within a quiet garden environment with trees, a fireplace, and frequent visits from hummingbirds and butterflies.

It’s Back! Our Annual New Year’s Day Polar Plunge ❄️

The Polar Plunge has roots in ancient Nordic traditions and early 20th-century swim clubs, evolving into a popular New Year’s Day ritual for health, resilience, and renewal.

We’re bringing that tradition back to Human Aeon — a community plunge to welcome the year with presence, courage, and clarity. Together, we’ll breathe, immerse, and reset for what’s ahead.

The Plunge: We’re adding ice again this year 🧊 — expect water temps around 40–45°F, icy enough to awaken every cell and remind you what it means to feel alive.

Join us Thursday, January 1 at 9:30 AM for our only session of the day!

As we move deeper into December, the shorter days start to land in the body. The sun checks out early, our energy dips, and even our motivation feels different. less light means less serotonin — which can shift our mood, our clarity, and how we show up.

This is where contrast therapy becomes such a supportive practice. Moving between heat and cold helps the body release norepinephrine — the neurotransmitter that boosts focus, alertness, and mood. It wakes up the system, strengthens resilience, and brings circulation back online when everything feels a little heavier than usual.
