Tichenor Clinic serves children & families who do not have access to therapy services and programs. The Clinic has been operating for almost 100 years —the dream of Adelaide Tichenor who, along with many of her friends, provided an endowment to fund the original orthopedic clinic and school. Strong leadership has ensured the current needs of young children are met. Our current Executive Director Kathryn Miles was preceded by Lori DeLaney, who served for 27 years, Nancy Mahan Hegelheimer served for 25 years and Gladdes Neff served for 30 years. is our current Medical Director, overseeing care for children with developmental delays, congenital conditions, injuries, and muscle weakness. served as Medical Director for 25 years and has volunteered for over 48 years. Therapists build a team around the child giving parents information, therapy and tools so they can help their child reach their full potential. The staff uses evidence-based clinical practice to conquer challenges in new ways! Physical therapists help children move and explore their environment. Speech therapists give children the tools to communicate effectively. Occupational therapists develop sensory, motor, behavioral, and thinking skills that are needed for daily activities like dressing, feeding, writing, play and social participation. Tichenor partners with parents every step of the way to help their children thrive.

There’s something special about watching families relax, create, and connect without pressure. During Social Days, parents have told us they've seen their children gain confidence, try new things, and build friendships.
One of our activities, a ceramic heart that families broke, painted, and pieced back together, became a powerful symbol: even when life changes us, we can rebuild into something just as beautiful.💗

Hay algo especial en ver a las familias relajarse, crear y conectarse sin presiones. Durante los días sociales, los padres nos han dicho que han visto a sus hijos ganar confianza, probar cosas nuevas y entablar amistades.
