Hey everyone! Happy Saturday!
When I learned to shift my mindset to expect good things to happen, does that mean my life suddenly became perfect and nothing bad ever happened again? Nope. Of course not! We are human beings, living in a complex world, in a complex universe. There are ups and downs, positive and negative, and we experience a full range of emotions (if we're fully living). We are not machines, although even machines get glitches and have breakdowns, don't they??? So why would we expect perfection from ourselves?? That's not even the point of life. Shifting my mindset simply means I give myself a break a little more often, forgive myself for mistakes, and remember to speak up for myself when I need to, and speak more kindly to myself when I get stressed out. It means that when I remember to look for good things happening, I tend to find them. It means that when I stick to my commitment to self-care, I usually have a much better day and can shake off aggravations more easily than when I don't. It means that I'm committed to giving myself another chance each day to experience more of what I do want, and less of what I don't!
