TCM techniques offer a cost effective approach without the side effects of many conventional forms of western medicine.

Join us on Wed. August 3, 2022 from 10:30 to Noon and create your very own Medicine Bag (pouch).

Medicine bags or pouches have been used for centuries by indigenous people. Now we use them for our own support. Your own personal medicine bag will represent both visual and tactile support. (Supporting change, healing, bringing love and abundance, strengthening personal energy and bringing in more joy).

Materials will be provided to begin your medicine bag, and you may have “just the right” stone or item at home to include in your bag. Choose a color bag that “speaks to you”. Trust yourself as to what you want and may need in your bag. Personal mementos: a photo, scrap of fabric, a poem or affirmation or any item that may have a special meaning or memory for you. Learn about the significance of items you choose.

While we focus on our intentions, you will place the objects in the medicine bag, one at a time. Giving thanks to each item will bring more love and good feelings.

There is no right or wrong on how you wear, carry or keep your medicine bag. You may want to keep it in a special place in your house, carry it with you, or even keep it in your car. If it feels right to you, do it!

A simple mindfulness practice:

Find beauty in your everyday life. The sun rising, the flowers on your windowsill, the tree branches rustling in the wind, the water flowing from your shower head.....

Breathe....take a couple of deep breaths - in through your nose. Focus on your lungs filling with air and you belly expanding. . SLOWLY exhale through your mouth.

Take notice of the air, the colors of the flowers, the dancing of the leaves or the fragrance of your shampoo. Listen to the sounds around you.....the leaves rustling in the wind, the water flowing.

Close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths in through your nose, filling your lungs. Slowly exhale as you get ready for your day.

Good Morning New Day
Use a few moments today to find a quiet time to relax your shoulders, rest your hands in your lap. Focus on breathing through your nose and out through your mouth.

Notice the parts of your body that feel tense, close your eyes and "see" the air filling in those places and taking out the stress and anxiety as you exhale.

Take in the beauty around you, the sun, your favorite art, a plant or a picture of a loved one.

Relax as you breathe. As you breathe in and out, let your stress, anxiety and irritations float away from you.

Hoping you find peace and tranquility today....even for a moment.

Sunflowers 🌻 turn according to the position of the sun. In other words, they “chase the light.” You might already know this, but there is another fact that you probably do not know!

Have you ever wondered what happens on cloudy and rainy days when the sun is completely covered by clouds?🤔
This is an interesting question.Isn’t it?

Perhaps you think the sunflower withers or turns its head towards the ground. Is this what crossed your mind?

Well, that’s incorrect!
This is what happens:
They turn towards each other to share their energy.🌻✨🌻

Nature’s perfection is amazing. Now let’s apply this reflection to our lives. Many people may become low-spirited, and the most vulnerable ones, sometimes, become depressed.
How about following the example of the beautiful sunflowers 🌻i.e."Supporting and empowering each other". Nature has so much to teach us.

Wishing everyone a "Sun flower"🌻 trait of turning towards each other on their cloudy and gloomy days.

World Tai Chi Qigong Meditation Day is celebrated the last Saturday in April in 100's of cities in over 80 nations of the world. Due to social distancing because of the Coronavirus, Toburan's annual event that was going to be held at the Long Beach Library today - has been cancelled.

Together, virtually, we can Be a healing Part of History. We can help spread health, calmness, peace and well-being across the planet. We are all part of One World - One Breath

BREATHING FOR WORLD TAI CHI QIGONG DAY

Sit or stand in a comfortable space. Try to eliminate distracting thoughts. Transition to a state of peace and inner quiet. Breathing should be relaxed, smooth and calm.

Bring to mind the warmth of the sun, the gentle breeze, the beauty of the re-birth of plants of our earth. Continue to breathe at your own pace. Gentle & calm.

As you breathe send yourself kind and gentle thoughts and feelings. Tell yourself you are beautiful, you are kind, you are gentle.

Breathe in and out, gently with loving kindness. Repeat for as long as you are comfortable. Gently sending healing to our earth and all people. Send healing to those who are ill. Send loving kindness to those who are fearful.

When you look at nature, the sun rising, the sun setting, the flowers and trees awakening from their long winter sleep and re-birth. - take the opportunity to practice mindful breathing. Be in touch with the beauty that is before you.
Tell yourself, "I am breathing in.. I am breathing out. Continue for a few minutes. Get in touch with nature. Look at the flowers, leaves, sun, ocean with mindfulness. Listen to the songs of the birds...Breathe. Close your eyes and your joy will increase, your breathing will become deeper and more gentle. The calmness, gentleness and depth of your appreciation will influence your whole body.
We are all in this together. Stay safe, eat healthy and use the time for self-care and indulgence. Take that leisurely bath, read the book you have been saving, choose a song and really listen to the words, paint, write, go through old photos, write a real letter to a friend. Stay in touch with yourself.

We recognize this is a very difficult time in our lives...but there is hope that healing will come to our world.
The singer/songwriter Andra Day wrote "Rise Up" to spread the message of PERSEVERANCE during difficult times......
These lyrics were written to remind us that in spite of the difficulties and miseries we are seeing and experiencing - we should not lose hope. We can rise up to overcome our fears and anxieties by taking the time to create, meditate and be mindful. Take joy in the small things and allow your body to have rest.
Andra sings - ..."All we need is hope....don't forget we have each other...."...a beacon of hope, of solace.....we need to rise up from the fear, we need to rise up from the anxiety we face. Music is a wonderful source of motivation and healing.
