Va**ng Linked to Increased Risk of Heart Disease:
Many people have recently traded in traditional ci******es for electronic ci******es in hopes of escaping the health hazards of to***co, including an increased risk of heart disease. However, a recent study finds that va**ng isn’t harmless, especially for those who are habitual longtime users of e-ci******es.
Study authors compared electrocardiograms and blood tests of daily e-cigarette users versus those who had never v**ed. All of the participants had no known health problems, were taking no medications, and did not smoke to***co ci******es. An increase in cardiac sympathetic activity was observed in those who v**e that was not present in nonusers. Cardiac sympathetic activity includes higher oxidative stress levels and levels of adrenaline in the heart, both of which increase the risk of cardiovascular problems.
Further research is needed to study the association of va**ng with other adverse health issues and to see if occasional use of e-ci******es increases the risk of heart disease.
