Sharing a similar passion for enhancing the quality of life for aging adults and restoring balance and peace of mind to their families, we started Keen Home Care in 2005 with the mission of helping even more families in ever more profound ways. It was an ambitious goal, but thanks to our more than 75 years of combined experience in assisting seniors and their families, and our comprehensive clinical backgrounds in nursing, therapy and social work, we feel we have made a positive, lasting difference in hundreds of people’s lives. We also believe that with every new success story, we gain new insights into the challenges aging presents to not only the senior, but their entire family. Being seen as “one of the family” to so many of our clients, we empathize with them and understand the incredible stress imposed by the tough and new choices they have to make, and that’s exactly why we founded Keen Home Care in the first place – we love to help. Now, over eight years later, as a seasoned team we are superbly equipped to deal with any situation, whether it’s a chronic condition, assisting with physical therapy or problematic behaviors related to Alzheimer’s or other dementias. Our diversity and experience also allows us to tailor our care to each client’s needs and budgets, which was our goal from the start. We are proud to celebrate Robert Capan as our Keen Blue Star Employee of the Month!

Born and raised in the Philippines, Robert moved to the United States in 2024 and joined the Keen Home Long Beach team in January 2025 as a valued Direct Care Staff Member.

Before beginning his journey in caregiving, Robert built a distinguished career as a site engineer and project manager, contributing to major land development projects including vertical and horizontal construction, wet utilities, roads and bridges, subdivisions, buildings, reservoirs, and sewer treatment plants. His work required a high level of expertise in cost control, quality assurance, and schedule management, skills he continues to bring to his role with us every day.

Robert is also the proud father of three sons. He loves spending quality time with his family, playing video games, and hanging out with his kids. He enjoys traveling, exploring new destinations, and has a natural curiosity for discovering new cuisines.

Robert is being recognized this month because he embodies the very best of Keen Home’s values–reliable, trustworthy, kind, and compassionate, always going above and beyond for our residents and supporting his fellow team members with positivity and goodwill.

Our Huntington Beach Open House on December 3rd was a wonderful success as we get ready to welcome residents to our new assisted living home in early 2026.

SoCal Elder Advocates hosted its first community panel at the Long Beach Yacht Club on November 4, 2025, sponsored by Keen Home Care & Homes.
