Celebrating National Spay and Neuter Awareness Month!

At Stitches Veterinary Surgery, we have the pleasure of offering laparoscopic spays, a modern, minimally invasive option for your pet.

During a laparoscopic spay, a tiny camera and specialized instruments are passed through small ports in the abdomen, allowing the surgeon to clearly visualize the internal organs without making a large incision. Because we only need 1–3 small openings, there is less tissue trauma and typically a faster, more comfortable recovery.

Laparoscopic techniques can also be used to obtain biopsy samples of abdominal organs or to perform a gastropexy (stomach “tack-down”) with minimal post‑operative discomfort.

If you’re interested in any of these minimally invasive procedures, please let us know. We’re here to help.

Managing urinary tract conditions is key to your pet’s comfort and health. Proper hydration, a vet-recommended diet, and close monitoring can help prevent blockages, stones, or infections.

Regular check-ups ensure your veterinarian can catch issues early and recommend treatment — including surgery if needed — to keep your pet healthy and happy. 🐶🐱

We had a "Hilo" Shark Attack today! Could he be any cuter in his shark suit? Luckily, he has a completely different demeanor than a shark and would rather kiss you than bite you!

All jokes aside, Dr. Campbell is a great boss to work for, as you can imagine when we asked him to skip down the hallway! He is such a good sport! 😆

Oral tumors are growths that form in the mouth, gums, tongue, or jaw. Some are benign, while others are cancerous — and many pets show subtle signs early on.

Signs pet owners often notice:
• Persistent bad breath
• Drooling or bleeding from the mouth
• Difficulty chewing or dropping food
• Facial or jaw swelling

Surgical removal is often the most effective way to relieve discomfort, restore function, and reduce the risk of progression. Early evaluation allows for more treatment options and better outcomes.

If something seems “off” with your pet’s mouth or eating habits, a surgical consultation can help determine the next step. stitchesvet.com/contact
