Let's keep those vaccinations up. Stay masked. Continue social distancing. Wash hands frequently. For those vaccine hesitant populations, ie. Blacks and Hispsnics/Latinos, I encourage you to vaccinate. If you have questions, let's talk about it.

♡ I'm fortunate to be a witness and participant of Black History Month in the making every single day. I'm blessed to know many fellow black 🦄🦄🦄 and have seen first hand ! 👑💃🏾 I am 👩🏾‍⚕️ and proud to be in that 2%!! For these reasons, and many more I naturally celebrate Black History everyday, but cannot let this MONTH go by without acknowledging its significance.

♡ I hope you celebrated Black History Month out loud, in color, and with purpose. And I encourage you to CELEBRATE BLACK HISTORY EVERY SINGLE DAY in your ACTIONS, how you LIVE, how you TREAT black folks and other people of color, and in RECOGNITION of and in TRIBUTE to their CONTRIBUTIONS made throughout history and in real time everyday. ❤🖤💚

So I'm late posting this, but YES! I GOT VACCINATED!! And I encourage those who are eligible to do so ASAP! So far, Pfizer and Moderna are both two dose series vaccinations FDA approved for use here in the US. In recent news, Johnson & Johnson, a one dose vaccination was approved as well.

◇ My Experience:

》First Dose:
• Moderate swelling and redness at injection site with same arm stiffness and soreness.
•Transient low grade fever (lasted an hour or so).
• Mild to moderate body aches.
• Symptoms lasted generally short-lived, lasting 24-48 hours.

》Second Dose:
• Similar injection site irritation and soreness.
• More pronounced fever, but also transient.
• Moderate to severe fatigue.
• Mild to moderate body aches.
• Mild to moderate intermittent headache.
• Symptoms generally more severe, lasting 24-72 hours.

⚠️ Keep in mind everyone's symptoms may vary, as will the severity of those symptoms.

⚠️ There is always risk of severe allergic reaction and anaphylaxis when given a new vaccination and/or medication. (You are monitored for such reactions for 15-20 mins post injection.)

▶️ Check with your local public health department, your health insurance plan, or your doctor for information regarding your vaccine eligibility and where to go to get your vaccine when you are eligible.

2020 is doing way too much! 😢
▪ She needs no caption.
▪ Fierce. Legendary. Iconic.
▪Her impact on the history of this country and testament to the true strength of a woman... Dynamic. From her voice in constitutional law to her grace in her years-long battle with cancer... Extraordinary. She is overdue for peaceful rest, and she so earned it.
Much respect, ma'am. Job well done.
▪The notorious R. B. G. and what she stood for will live on in history.

It's been a rough year and it's difficult to reflect on past challenges, especially now. These are trying times, but we've been here before, maybe the circumstances were different, but the loss, the pain, the fear feels the same...and ultimately the triumph will be too! We can do this! We can get through this!! I know this because we've been here before. But the key we must hold on to is...each other. We'll get through this together. TOGETHER. Protect each other. Respect each other. Love thy neighbor. And... remember where we've been, as we push towards a brighter future. TOGETHER.
It won't be easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is.
