It’s our human nature to experience moments of chaos and disorder. We often take that to mean something’s wrong — that we’ve made a mistake or need to fix something fast. But what if this is simply the nature of all beginnings?

A little chaotic.
A little messy.
A little uncertain.
And entirely natural.

Think about one area of your life right now that feels tangled, unclear or overwhelming. What if — instead of needing to sort it all out — you trusted that this is the sorting? That disorder is not a problem, but a process…slowly working itself into a new kind of harmony.

You know how in high school our English teacher would make us rewrite our essays over and over? At the time, we thought she was just out to ruin our lives with endless revisions. But guess what? She was actually onto something!

Turns out, that whole process of editing, revising and refining doesn't just apply to improving a paper—it's a metaphor for life. Often, the first draft of our story is messy and that’s okay. It’s through the revisions that we start to shape something that truly reflects who we are and the story we want to tell through our lives.

If there's something in your story currently that no longer resonates with who you are, give yourself permission to rewrite that part of your script in accordance with how you actually desire to live going forward. It could be your commitment to your daily exercise routine, your level of presence in your relationships, your ambition in your business. Know that you have the power to change the narrative of your life by changing your thoughts and beliefs. You don't have to wait. You can give yourself permission today.

Mercury, the planet of communication, is now direct and with the influence of yesterday's full moon, this is a wonderful week to sit and write out a new story for your life that aligns with your greater ideals and your biggest dreams. The change you desire begins by shifting the words you tell yourself about yourself.

Monday, August 5th, 2024 - Mercury Retrograde

As Mercury embarks on its retrograde today through the signs of Virgo and Leo, we're presented with an opportunity to reassess our relationship with time, productivity, and self-expression. It's a chance to ask ourselves: Are we respecting time's natural flow, or only respecting it when it suits our expectations, desires or preferences?

In Virgo, we're prompted to examine our workflows, habits, and routines, identifying areas for improvement and optimization. As Mercury Retrograde enters Leo's domain on August 14th, we're encouraged to revisit our creative pursuits, passions and true voice. This is a time to reignite our inspiration and ensure alignment with our authentic self.

Mercury retrogrades are times for reflection and realignment in order to bring ourselves back into the natural rhythm of life.
