▶️ Left shoulder dyskinesis. Before and after treatment assessments. Notice the down movement of the arm and shoulder blade on the left vs the right.
Simply put it’s the movement of the shoulder blade during arm motion, often caused by muscle weakness/imbalance, poor posture, or overuse, leading to pain, instability, and potential rotator cuff issues, treated primarily with physical therapy to improve muscle control, strength, and mechanics. It’s characterized by changes like the shoulder blade sticking out (“winging”) or a feeling of instability, and can affect overhead athletes or anyone with shoulder issues.

I’ve always been a big believer in providing quality care treatment.
That being said, avoiding quality care to save money now often leads to greater costs later, especially as it related to sport related injuries.
Investing in the best treatment today means investing in your long-term health and well-being.

Here is something to think about 👈🏻
Billions of dollars are spent in our healthcare system to treat musculoskeletal condition. IN FACT this is the number one cause to disability in the United States (while more research money is spent on learning about other diseases such as heart diseases and diabetes).
With that being said a lot of research money and insurance money goes towards learning more about ACL injuries, as well as about treatment and rehab.
Unfortunately in the field of sports ACL injuries are on the RISE and become more COMMON and questions such as how to mitigate risk of injury are still not being addressed correctly. Testing, rehabilitation and return to sport protocols seem to be addressed by professionals such as physios and orthopedic doctors very loosely and without much urgency to change this pattern.
Physios, doctors, teams, sports performance professionals have to change the way they test, treat and return athletes to sports more critically with standardized evidence based tests and assessments.
Having athletes return to sport just by simply increasing their work capacity until they feel good enough to perform well in their sport is not good enough.
