Ethos Primary Care Ron Weiss, M.D. Mission:

To prevent, treat, and cure illness with Plant-Based Whole Foods.

a board certified internist, and his team at Ethos Primary Care provide healthcare, and Whole Food Plant-Based lifestyle medicine services for patients in NJ, NY and beyond - treating the root cause of illness. In prescribing such a diet, we embrace the Hippocratic Philosophy of "Food as Medicine" and strive to eliminate the major causes of sickness, suffering, and death in America including asthma, autoimmune disease, high blood pressure, obesity, heart attack, strokes, cancer, arthritis, osteoporosis, and frailty of old age. Through education as well as emotional support and guidance, we empower the individual, family and community to take charge of their health and well-being. In doing so, we remove the need for a healthcare "System" and usher in a new age of local, sustainable health.

As an apprentice you will play a key role in our farm’s operation by joining a small crew of three who have been working together for several seasons. Apprentices will be provided the necessary training and instruction to be a successful and skilled member of a highly-productive farming operation. We take the time to explain the reason behind our methods and why we do a task a certain way. You’ll be AMAZED at how much food can be grown on an acre and a half! Highly adaptable and eager candidates with a passion for learning will get the most out of the experience.

The work schedule is five days a week with a lunch break usually at noon. A typical workweek is 40 hours though at the height of the season we may get up to 50 hours. We start our days earlier and also end earlier during the summer. Interns will staff one of our farm markets per week which provides a great opportunity to engage with the community, closing the loop of the week’s hard work. We have two markets per week: Friday and Saturday. We rotate the staff to work a Saturday market every other week. During those weeks they will take a weekday off. This allows interns to keep a five-day workweek. We believe in a farm-life balance!

JUST ADDED for 2026!
April 19 & May 17
Join our exclusive workshop led by local, regenerative organic grain farmer and sourdough bread baker extraordinaire Jason DeSalvo, at Cold Brook Farm in Oldwick, NJ.

In this three hour class, Jason will introduce you to sourcing the finest organic grains, the importance of whole grains to your health and WFPB-SOS lifestyle, the difference between freshly milled flour and what we typically buy in a store, baking with a sourdough starter and the basic concepts behind baking glorious, nutritious breads in a normal oven right in your own home.

During our time together you will taste different grain berries, mill fresh flour, taste the difference between freshly milled and store bought flour, create your own sourdough starter and bake bread! Please bring a small, clean widemouth jar (8-12 ounces is an ideal size) if you plan on taking home your very own “baby” (i.e. sourdough starter).

This class will be held at Cold Brook Farm in Oldwick, NJ and is strictly limited to eight people. Class will start promptly and directions will be emailed to all participants upon receipt of payment.

Please note, we cannot honor cancellations within 5 days of the class. If you need to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible, but at least 5 days prior to the class. Failure to cancel 5 days in advance will forfeit your class.
Shipping calculated at checkout.
