Here is Ms. Fred again, showing her glow-up! This is what a year and a few months of good nutrition, good farrier work, correct riding and a properly fitting, well designed saddle will do!

Check out how the atrophy behind her scapula has gone away. The healthy muscling is now holding that scapula closer to her body.

Look at her posture: She is now lifted through her sternum, instead of allowing it to sag between her front legs.

Fred’s saddle gets regular checks and flocking adjustments and she recently needed the tree adjusted almost two sizes wider!

Thoroughbreds can have healthy backs! No atrophy or “shark fin” here! Saddle design and fit is important.

These are not my cats! No, they didn’t go home with me (although each one is adorable and I was tempted 😆).

Also, a great illustration of the chaos that occurs every week in my van— the jumble in the photo with the black kitty was the result of a hasty pack up due to an incoming deluge of rain.
