Here's an interesting study on the effect of 3 mg melatonin taken a short bit before bedtime on GERD, gastro-esophageal-reflux disease (heart burn) compared with proton pump inhibitors or a combination of the two. Noting that melatonin has been associated with nightmares on rare occasions, not really in our experience because it makes the dreams bad, but because it can make dreams more vivid. And no one complains about having great dreams.
