Recently, our Executive Leadership Team and Stroke Coordinator had the privilege of presenting stroke challenge coins to crew members of the Longview Fire Department and to nursing staff in the Longview Regional ER.
What began as an ordinary day changed in an instant when a Longview resident experienced a stroke and was quickly transported by Longview Paramedics to LRMC.
From the moment they were picked up in a parking lot to the moment they were discharged home four days later, the patient described their care as “wonderful” — and sharing that they felt completely safe, cared for, and even loved.
“The nursing staff cared for me like I was their family.
The doctors were always available and checked on me several times each day. Thank you for taking such good care of me and for keeping me alive.”
Stories like this are exactly why we do what we do. 💙
These challenge coins are a symbol of our deep appreciation for the swift response, teamwork, and dedication shown that day. We are grateful for the partnership between our local paramedics, our emergency team, and our hospital staff — working together to save lives and support recovery.
