Longview Regional Medical Center Cardiology Team Celebrates 100th Milestone VTE Procedure 🎉

The Longview Regional Medical Center Cardiology Team recently reached an exciting milestone — celebrating its 100th venous thromboembolism (VTE) procedure, performed by Interventional Cardiologists Drs. Ranjan Dahal, Rajeev Singh, and Cardiothoracic Surgeon, Dr. David Jayakar.

At Longview Regional Medical Center, the cardiology team utilizes advanced, minimally invasive procedures—including mechanical thrombectomy—to treat blood clots and restore blood flow quickly and safely. This image-guided technique allows interventional cardiologists to navigate a catheter to the clot site and use specialized devices to remove or break up the clot, often preventing life-threatening complications.

“Reaching this milestone is a reflection of our entire team’s commitment to innovation and excellence in patient care,” said Dr. David Jayakar, Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Longview Regional Medical Center. “Every VTE procedure represents an opportunity to make a difference for someone facing a serious, and often unexpected, medical condition. We’re proud to bring advanced cardiovascular treatment options to the East Texas community.”

The milestone procedure was performed by Drs. Ranjan Dahal, Rajeev Singh, and David Jayakar, all members of Regional Clinics Cardiology at Longview Regional Medical Center. Their collaborative approach to patient care ensures timely diagnosis, rapid intervention, and comprehensive follow-up for those at risk of vascular complications.

Longview Regional Medical Center remains committed to advancing cardiovascular care, offering specialized programs in heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and structural heart disease, along with comprehensive vascular and rehabilitation services.
