URGENT! SUBMIT COMMENT BY 5PM TODAY!
Hi friends,
This is a right-now, drop-what-youβre-doing moment for the Texas h**p community.
The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is finalizing proposed rules for Consumable H**p Products. If adopted, these rules will have the force of law and will directly impact every business, producer, retailer, and consumer in this space.
π The deadline to submit public comments is TODAY at 5:00 PM.
Thatβs not tomorrow. Thatβs this afternoon.
What Alchemy TX is doing
I will be heading to Austin to make sure our voices are heard β representing District 7 as a h**p producer, processor, and retailer, especially as we move into our new downtown location. I want our concerns on record before this council and regulatory body makes decisions that could permanently damage access to legal h**p in Texas.
But one voice is not enough. We need many.
What YOU can do to help (please do this now)
Even a short message matters. You do not need to be an expert.
π§ Send a public comment before 5:00 PM TODAY:

You can literally write something as simple as:
βPlease do not adopt rules that price small h**p businesses out of existence.β
βH**p should remain safe, legal, accessible, and affordable for adults.β
βThese licensing fee increases are excessive and harmful to Texas businesses.β
βPlease regulate the final consumer product, not raw materials used in processing.β
Thatβs it. It does not have to be perfect β it just has to be sent.
π Review the proposal and background here:

Why this is urgent
While there are parts of the proposal we support β such as:
β’ Child-resistant packaging
β’ 21+ age restrictions with ID verification
β’ Strong testing and recall plans
There are also deeply concerning provisions, including:
β’ Confusing and contradictory definitions of h**p
β’ Licensing fee increases jumping as high as 13,000%
β’ Retail fees proposed to rise from $150/year to $20,000/year
β’ Manufacturer and processor fees proposed to rise from $250/year to $25,000/year
β’ Restrictions on transporting ingredients for processing that ignore basic manufacturing realities
These changes would wipe out small businesses and limit access for Texans who rely on legal h**p products.
