Welcoming our newest associates as they complete SAMA (Self-Awareness Management & Aggression) training, led by our Director of Operations, Larry through their orientation program.

SAMA is a required de-escalation program that every associate completes before engaging in patient care. We believe de-escalation is not just a skill—it’s essential to providing safe, respectful, and compassionate care.

This training equips our team with the tools to recognize early warning signs, manage high-stress situations, and respond in ways that prioritize dignity, safety, and therapeutic outcomes for both patients and staff.

Proud of our team’s commitment to learning, growth, and putting patient care first.

Welcome to the team!

We’re excited to welcome three new PRN Mental Health Technicians to our Oceans family Shae, Iris, and Tania. Each of them brings a genuine passion for mental healthcare and a strong personal “why” behind choosing this field.

We’re looking forward to hearing their stories, learning from their experiences, and seeing the positive impact they’ll make right away. One is currently in nursing school, and another plans to attend nursing school this year, reflecting a shared commitment to growth and continued learning.

Shae, Iris, and Tania already embody what we strive for every day - compassionate and comprehensive mental healthcare. We’re grateful they chose to join our mission and look forward to the difference they will make for our patients and our team.

Please help us give them a warm welcome!

Service to our community is at the heart of what we do.

We’re proud to share that our Director of HIM, Kristen, and our Executive Assistant, Joelle, volunteered their time and created Oceans gift bags and served dinner at the House of Hope. Giving back is more than a value for us - it’s a commitment.

Thank you both for representing Oceans with compassion, humility, and service. We’re incredibly proud of our team and the positive impact they continue to make in our community.

Oceans Behavioral Hospital - Longview is to partner with Texas State Technical College!

We are excited to share our partnership with Texas State Technical College-Marshall to help provide mental health support for their students. Supporting students’ wellbeing is essential to their success, both in the classroom and beyond.

A sincere thank you to Karen and Jill for inviting our CEO, Vern Rennier, to meet with the executive leadership team and for providing a tour of the facility.

"From my perspective, this is truly an outstanding campus for students across East Texas. The equipment and hands-on training tools are incredibly impressive; exact replicas of what students will be working on in their future careers, setting them up for real-world success."

We are proud to support Texas State Technical College and its students. Everyone deserves to feel supported, hopeful, and mentally well, and we believe mental health care is a critical part of helping students build a bright and successful future.
