Our CEO, Vern Rennier, joined Mayor Kristen Ishihara, Councilwoman Shannon Moore, and Jennifer Ware to share key takeaways from the InterCity Visit and discuss long-range planning and opportunities to continue moving Longview forward.

Last week, the Longview Mayor Kristen Ishihara addressed our community about the growing food shortage and the potential impacts of the government shutdown. In response, the City of Longview launched a community-wide food drive — and today marks its final day.

Oceans Healthcare–Longview was honored to join this effort. We started our own food drive to address the needs of the community, and thanks to the generosity of our Inpatient and Outpatient associates, we delivered a truckload of food to the convention center collection point to help support families in need.

We are incredibly proud and grateful for our team members who stepped up to serve others. Your compassion is what makes our community stronger.

This week, we’re honored to highlight Sarah, our amazing Outpatient Receptionist.

Sarah loves seeing the progress in patients from the moment they arrive to the day they complete their program. She says the most rewarding part of her job is watching individuals go from being in crisis to feeling excited about life again.

She understands that taking the first step toward treatment is often the hardest. That’s why Sarah makes it her mission to help patients feel safe, comfortable, and supported from the very start. Her compassion and kindness help patients build the confidence they need to begin their healing journey.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys reading thrillers, cooking, antique shopping, and spending time with her family.

Our team was proud to attend the Salute to Our Heroes event today, representing The Rally Point, Oceans Healthcare–Longview’s program dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of veterans.

One of the highlights of the day was meeting Will Summers, one of the original members of the elite Special Forces team known as the “Horse Soldiers” - the first group of soldiers to enter Afghanistan on horseback following 9/11.

What an amazing night at Oceans Healthcare–Longview! 💙

Our Trunk-or-Treat was a huge success — full of laughter, creativity, and community spirit! It was wonderful to see our associates and their families come together, along with families from across East Texas, to celebrate Halloween in true Oceans style.

From fun costumes and candy-filled trunks to fresh popcorn, music, and even a few superheroes making appearances, the evening was topped off by our big inflatable jumbo screen playing some favorite cartoon Halloween movies — a perfect way to end the night!

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the evening such a memorable celebration. We’re already looking forward to next year! 🦇👻🍬

Associate Spotlight: Lindsey

This week, we’re honored to recognize Lindsey, our outstanding Discharge Planner at Oceans Healthcare-Longview. Lindsey plays a vital role in helping our patients transition safely and successfully back into their communities, ensuring each individual leaves our care with the support and resources they need to continue their journey toward healing.

Lindsey is known for her compassion, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to patient care. She collaborates closely with our nurses, therapists, and physicians to coordinate care plans and ensure every discharge is handled with excellence. Her positive spirit and strong work ethic truly make her a cornerstone of our team.

Outside of work, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves reading thrillers and her favorite author is Stephen King.

What a fun and meaningful day at Oceans Healthcare-Longview!

Our team went all out for this year’s Annual Retraining Program, turning it into a Harry Potter themed event, and it was nothing short of magical!

Beyond the creativity and laughter, today was about something much deeper - staying sharp, staying aligned, and staying committed to our mission. Annual retraining isn’t just a requirement; it’s how we continue to strengthen our skills, uphold the highest standards of safety and care, and ensure every patient receives the best possible experience.

We are incredibly proud of our associates who turned education into inspiration - proving that when you mix teamwork, passion, and purpose, you can make even the most serious work truly extraordinary. 💙

We’re proud to spotlight Steve, LPC, LCDC, one of our incredible therapists here at Oceans Healthcare- Longview! 💙

Steve brings compassion, faith, and a deep sense of purpose to his work each day. He loves helping patients rediscover joy and meaning in life ,especially those overcoming challenges like substance abuse or loss. Watching patients regain focus, celebrate clean and sober milestones, and find happiness again is what drives his passion for the work he does. "The patients also refer to me as one of them, and I like to pay it forward".

When he’s not inspiring others, Steve can usually be found reading; He finishes at least one book a week! One of his favorites is “Man’s Search for Meaning” by Viktor Franco. Before joining Oceans, Steve served as a chaplain at a residential facility, continuing his lifelong mission to help others heal.
