Let's talk PROTEIN!!! 🥩🍗🥚🍖

What is it: Typically, we're talking all the meats, eggs, and some meatless alternatives such as tofu.
Why we need it: Energy but most importantly it helps build and repair muscle tissue.
How much do we need: There's no magic number for this (as it depends on individual needs and goals). But typically a good amount is between 20-30 grams per meal or about a palm sized portion.

You don't necessarily need more food, but you might need more protein. Drop your favorite protein in the comments! 😋

Once you’ve noticed your habits, tracked them, and started changing one or two things, the next step is not doing more. It’s choosing the right thing to adjust. Let's PRIORITIZE

1. Are you eating enough?
You can't just not eat. You need energy to complete everyday activities

2. Are you consistent?
Not perfect. Just steady.

3. When are we eating?
Don't let your busyness distract you from eating.

4. Food quality
This matters! You could eat 100 calories of chips or 100 calories of vegetables. Which do you think provides more quantity and quality.

You don’t need to fix everything at once. And you don't need to cut everything out. It's all a matter building the right foundation in creating your new habits.

Now that we've taken time to notice and/or track our habits, the goal isn't to change everything all at once. It's to LOOK for patterns and create NEW habits.

Have you been skipping meals? Snacking when bored? Forget to drink water?
Now, let's focus on just one or two adjustments to your routines. Small adjustments are easier maintain. Remember to utilize SMART goals when choosing a new habit to incorporate. Stay committed. It's okay if you miss once, we're not perfect. Skipping doesn't break a habit, quitting does.
But most importantly, be patient! Forming a new habit takes TIME. The average person needs 6-10 weeks before a habit really sticks.
It's not a sprint, it's a marathon.
