Stepping on the scale is good way to track progress. But just like anything in life, there are pros and there are cons.

Pros:
Scales provide data. Data that can track trends, over a long period of time. It can tell you how habits are affecting your body. It can provide accountability. Fancy scales can even break down percentages like water and fat.

Cons:
Regular scales are just a number. It doesn't reflect daily fluctuations in hydration or sodium intake. It doesn't account for changes in strength or fitness. And it can't distinguish between muscle gain and fat loss. Some fancy scales can track some of those things to an extent. But some people get so focused on the numbers, TOO FOCUSED.

Basically, the scale can be a helpful tool for SOME people. Sometimes a better indicator of our progress is our energy levels or how our clothes fits. All this is just to say, yes, you can use a scale. But don't get bogged down by the numbers. It's just one way to track progress. It's not the only way
