Knee pain from lower leg rotation
I made a post a while ago about lower leg rotation and a couple of mobility/ activation drills you can do.
Lower leg rotation can not only have an effect on the appearance of posture but also on leverage point and cause pain at "weak links in the chain."
Some of these areas are the foot/ankle, tibia(shin splints), knee, hip, and even higher up. Of course, this isn't always the only reason why you have pain in these areas, but it can be a good place to look. Since it can be pretty noticeable.
In this case, I looked up the chain, using cupping to work on some "collateral damage" (secondary pain), and worked manually (hands-on) on the foot and ankle, that was primary culprit.

Sometimes, a simple thing can make a change.
2 min of work made this change. Can you guess what it was?
The only thing that I had him do was roll his feet for one minute each.
The fascial connection from the plantar fascia runs up the back of the legs to hips and spine.
Now, two things -
1- working on one portion of the fascial chain can affect another enough to make a small change.
2- While it's true some benefits of a single foam rolling, or in this case, lacross ball rolling of the feet, last a short time. It is beneficial to use the new neurological input and access to lengthened tissue to gain control and comfort in this new range to lock it in and hold on to some.

Neck work with focus on upper trap
The musculature of the neck is so busy. It's one of the areas that I feel like I could spend a whole hour on. But at the same time, I feel most people, including myself, can ignore until a certain point. And even then, there are some people who will walk around like 1989's Michael Keaton batman
Getting some detailed work on your neck done can free up space in the segments of your spine, allowing you more access to range of motion. From there, we can look at the possible reasons why you got "all locked up" in the first place - reoccurring positions; work space, sleep, breathing mechanics, movement patterns, structural issues...

Some tools of the trade. I had someone with muscle strain after ramping up some running. This increased muscle spasm to the medial gastric (inside portion of the calf).
Worked on some hip, knee and ankle mobility with hands-on manipulation and stretching, increased some circulation with moving and stationary cupping, soft tissue mobilization with the IASTM (graston, Gua Sha, fascial scraping *however you want to call it) Mohawk blade and did some muscle activation -hands-on and using the ortho stim. Not in any particular order.
Good amount of work for a quick 30min session

Restoring pain free shoulder and scapular motion can mean working from many angles. Neck to shoulder blade, mid back to shoulder blade, chest to shoulder, freeing up the ribs, clavicle, and everyone's favorite subscap (aka sucky armpit muscle).
Dealing with the movement pattern that caused the adhesions, scar tissue, spasm or trigger point is a big part of dealing with the pain long term.

Working cervical joint Mobility

Headaches, trouble turning your head, pain into the upper back or shoulder?

It might be a surprise but we have more than one neck muscle.😲
We have muscles that attach to the back of the head to the upper neck, some that go from the mid neck to the lower neck, neck to ribs in the back, to ribs in the front, head to scaps. Clavicle, sternum... yeah its a busy area overall.
Thats not even considering myofascial patterns and trigger points.

Addressing mobility issues, hypertonicity and adhesions in the neck might be what puts you on track to correcting things you've probably been dealing with for years
