✨️Long post but informative.
Dear Parents and Families,
I am writing to you today with gratitude and a continued commitment to transparency regarding the concerns that were raised involving the athletic program and student medical care.
First, I want to sincerely thank the parents and community members who voiced their concerns. Advocacy for our children takes courage. Your willingness to speak up reflects the deep care we all share for the safety and well-being of our student-athletes.
Following these concerns, school leadership conducted a review of the situation, including meetings with the Athletic Director, discussions with the trainer, and conversations with coaching staff. We have been informed that the matter has been addressed.
While internal reviews may conclude administratively, what remains most important is this: the health and safety of our children must always come first. No practice, game, or season should ever outweigh appropriate medical evaluation or a parent’s right to seek outside medical care for their child.
As a licensed massage therapist working with many of your student-athletes, I am bound by an ethical responsibility to prioritize client safety, advocate for appropriate care, and never discourage necessary medical evaluation. My professional standards require me to act in the best interest of those I serve. When concerns arise that involve potential barriers to medical care, I have a duty to speak up—not out of conflict, but out of commitment to safety.
Please know that I am available as a resource for guidance if you ever have questions about injury recovery, body maintenance, or navigating next steps when your athlete is hurt.
While I do not replace medical providers, I am always willing to help families understand options and encourage appropriate care.
As a community, our shared goal is clear:
✨️Protect our children
✨️Ensure proper medical guidance when injuries occur
✨️Maintain open, respectful communication between parents, trainers, coaches, and school leadership
When we work together, we create a culture of safety, trust, and accountability that benefits every athlete.
Thank you for your continued advocacy, involvement, and commitment to doing what is best for our students.
With respect and shared purpose,
Jacquelin Lee, LMT
