Closing early on Wednesday 12/31/25 at 3pm and closed Thursday 1/1/2026 through Sunday 1/4/2026. We will reopen on Monday 1/5/2026

I admit this article is a bit long and a bit technical, however it is very well written.

The ability of SARS CoV2 viruses to evade detection and change host cellular response are some of the many reasons I have such respect for the damage that the SARS CoV2 virus can inflict. It is really an elegant little invading overlord, adept at overthrowing host defense systems. And it appears to be constantly evolving and improving its systems. Very scary, and not enough people recognize this.

Sure you might have mild symptoms now, but what is happening to your cells once the invasion begins? What other effects will happen 3 years from now, 10 years from now?

This is why I still take precautions. I may inevitably come down with Covid, but I am going to avoid it as much as possible.

Good news for Medicare age beneficiaries. Telehealth benefits return through January 2026.

The two-month reprieve extends through January 2026. While some providers are restarting telehealth services, it remains unclear whether eligible virtual care reimbursements, accrued during the 43-day shutdown, will be approved for retroactive payment.

Medicare Open Enrollment 2026 - In 2026 the pharmacy is NOT accepting Humana. We have sent a Medicare Part D(Drug) plan analysis showing you options for 2026 for everyone we have in our system that has Humana.

The emails of the reports comes from AMPLICARE( a company who provides us Medicare Data). If you have Humana insurance and you used our pharmacy in the past and you did NOT receive a report, please send an email to

in the subject line put "Humana 2026" and in the body of the email put the name and birthdate of who the report should be done for.

Medicare Part D for 2026

We’re quickly approaching the time of the year when you can change your Medicare Part D (Drug) plans for 2026, October 15th to December 7th. The plan you may already have for 2025 is good until the end of the year.

Part of the problem with the Part D plans is that your current plan can and may already have sent you information on what their plan will be in 2026.

We hear from patients who are concerned that their current plan is going up in price and what should they do?

We will be able to access all the plans available after October 15th, until we can see what all the other plans are offering you should not be concerned about your current plan, and especially do not renew your current plan until you determine it is the best plan for you in 2026.

The long and the short of it is do not do anything about renewing your current plan, you have plenty of time, the deadline is December 7th. If we have provided you with a written comparison of the plans that are in your best interest, we will do it again for 2026.

If you're not sure if we have you on our list for 2026, send an email to PartD2026@lopezislandpharmacy.com and we will see that you get a customized report on plans that could be in your best interest for 2026. We will not start running reports until after October 15th.

This is the newest vaccine for 2025/2026 for those age 65 and older. If you have already made an appointment, please disregard this call. Do not change your appointment.

If you do not have a computer or smart phone to access our web site, you can call the Family Resource Center for assistance. If no appointments are showing, we have already filled all the slots for this order. We will have more openings as we receive vaccines, please be patient. Currently we are booking in September and October.
