Brittany Lea Nurse • Educator • Wife • Mom of 4 • Author Hey I am Brittany. My most sincere prayer is the lyrics of the Carl Cartee song: “More than Just Words”.

I have worked for 10 years as an RN, and for the past 3 years as a nursing instructor, but my true passion has always been writing. I’ve been reluctant to share my writing in the past, but I have learned through experiences with death and the hard stuff in life, that writing is very therapeutic both for the writer and for the reader. I’m just a woman in my thirties trying to navigate motherhood and work out my relationship with Christ one day at time. It’s my prayer as he sang, that my life will honor God with ‘more than just words that I speak from my mouth, that I’d give him my thoughts before they're even out, every ambition, every dream I dream. More than just talk from my lips, cuz you’re all that there is With all of my heart father, I want to give MORE THAN JUST WORDS!’

These lyrics are where the tagline of this blog was born. Someday, I’d love to be a best-selling author, but for now-- I just want to be a vessel of encouragement to others. Thanks for being here!

It is truly beautiful to see how God connects people when you are obedient in the work you are called to do. As Christ followers, we are called to love God and love people. We are called to use our pain and experiences to meet people in similar experienxes in their times of need. This past weekend we raised money for the Leah Wilkinson Memorial Foundarion by hosting a pastalya dinner. So many helpful hearts and hands were involved. Obstacles arose, but God provided.

Before we even left the church, we were able to bless someone in our cancer community and meet needs only God knows about.

He opens doors, yall. He answers prayers, and He provides when we are open to being used by Him. My sweet momma’s work carries on - and it’s more apparent every year that it’s not just about cancer awareness-It’s about kingdom work: loving others well, showing up wirh compassion, meeting needs, and giving with open hands.

Thanks to all who gave this weekend and year after year so that mom’s legacy can live on. Thanks be to God for the ministry born our pain. The fruitfulness of this work becomes more and more evident with each passing year..

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 1:6

“The Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
— 2 Corinthians 1:3–4r thr
